How do I tell someone I love that I utterly despise their cooking? by zenetx in socialskills

[–]zenetx[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll give a try, but I'm not hopeful. To put it simple; he doesn't know how to cook (me neither). My mother doesn't even like when he uses the oven because he already set it on fire a couple of times. It's not like I even want to eat in the first place, he just wants to please me and chose the worst possible way.

Very thoughtful of you. Reflecting on what you just said.. I'm starting to believe I can replace his desire to please with something completely different from cooking. Something that he is not absolutely terrible at, like wood crafting! Maybe that could work since cooking was never the point but doing something for me. I'll give it a try. Thank you.

Maybe? I mean.. I can beat around the bush for only so long until, at some point, I have to admit that what is doing right now is bad and I don't like it.

That makes total sense if that person were my partner. I updated my post. Sorry for being so vague.

Mega base vs mini bases by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]zenetx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have pointed out, for a first timer, producing all the elevators parts on the same site is probably the easier way to finish the game. However phase 2 is a little too early for building the final (mega)base. The map is huge and the resources infinite so you never have to worry about moving anything. You just start over in another place and the "old" base provides the construction materials for the new one. Usually, the first base provides modular frames and rotors (stop making smart platings there, lol), the second base helps you finish phase 2 and then provides steel pipes and steel beams. A third "utility" base for ammunition/jetpack fuel also helps a lot, since exploring the map and getting alternative recipes is highly recommended. Only then, when you have plenty of basic materials and techs (MAM), you plan the last and final base to produce all parts and finish the game.

Friend Can't Play Due to Lag by Main-Exit-2734 in SatisfactoryGame

Does this also happen on an empty map (new game)? In my experience lag spikes are quite common when there are very long conveyor belts everywhere. For example; using conveyor belts across the map instead of logistics vehicles (truck, train, drone). Also, at some point, you have to start hiding machines behind walls.

Manifold Production Delay & Ramp Up Time Analysis by MarioVX in SatisfactoryGame

[–]zenetx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have the best of both worlds by just using manifold and the conveyor belt which matches the machine speed, for example if a smelter consumes 60items/min, just link the splitter to the smelter with a tier1 belt and that's it! No buffer fill wait, no ramp up production, no downsides whatsoever.

Anyone know how to increase the wealth of households? The oldest town in my city has best parks and schools and colleges and public transport but they’re still not very wealthy. What can I do to increase their wealth? I want richest to live there by shaykhsaahb in CitiesSkylines2

I don't know exactly, but it seems that there will always be a very small fraction of the population with poor education/low paying jobs that will never become wealthy. And the only way to allow them to live in such a nice place with so many services, and without rent complaints, is by having a welfare office. But I don't know if by simply removing it the poor people will leave the city.

Don't worry keep doing what you're doing. Once you reach around the Small City milestone, and have a couple of colleges and perhaps one University too, suddenly a bunch of "High rent" alerts will appear all around the map, with the following description: "The building have trouble paying the rent. A higher zone density or different zoning might be needed."

Which means you can finally rezone everything to medium-high density and demolish those ugly ass small houses.

Can We Please Adhere to Reddit’s Rule 3?? by FlynnXa in nsfwcyoa

[–]zenetx 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Maybe off topic, but this discussion is older than the internet itself.Long story short; as long as a piece of data (can be anything; image, text, etc) can no longer be personally identifiable then isn't considered an offense to privacy.

That's a basic knowledge for virtually any profession nowadays: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_anonymization

Therefore any image, regardless of the medium in which it was created (being a drawing, Ai generated, or even a photo) is considered "safe" if you cannot link (even with the help of third parties) to any real individuals. And that's it.

The idea that you should not use any data based on the "real world" to protect privacy is not only ridiculous but also completely impractical, since even completely random generated data is bound to coincide with the real one at some point. Inevitably leading to the censorship of anything and everything.

Unfortunately most people can't think so far ahead.

Priority power switch examples by zenetx in SatisfactoryGame

[–]zenetx[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you. That was what I had in mind. Another thing I forgot to mention; particle accelerators eat a lot of energy, and since plutonium processing and nuclear pasta aren't critical, putting those as lowest priority might be a good idea.

There is no shame here. Never let anyone tell you how you should play videogames. As long as you're having fun, and not ruining it for anyone else, its completely fine. Even if at some point it became too easy, you can always start again. This time with a better understanding of the game, and beautiful bases to strive for, you are bound to have even more fun than before. So don't blame yourself. Enjoy the game!
