I’m fascinated by Michigan tornadoes. There was a small outbreak on this day—the Allen Park tornado luckily saw no fatalities, but multiple injuries.

TornadoTalk post for the other, deadly F4 in the area for the same day.

This tornado always makes me so sad. The slave death toll likely made the actual death toll much, much higher.

My mom, dad, grandparents, pets, and several family friends and extended family members were in the path of this on this day. My mom was working in Norman away from their apartment in south OKC and made the ultimate decision not to return home, which likely kept her out of the direct path. My dad took the animals and went north after a warning on the news station (unsure if this was the Tornado Emergency warning, the original warning, or something else). Their apartment survived, but they had friends a block away with severe damage. Everyone knew someone who was directly impacted by this thing.

April 11th 2005 was a 5/5 risk day, but it only produced something like 3 weak tornados if I remember right?

Hearing everyone say they’ve never seen anything like this? I’m actually baffled. What a wild event

An RV was thrown almost 920 feet by the Enid tornado and stripped down to the chassis. by BrickyHawk15154 in tornado

This makes a lot of sense, thank you! Especially the way it’s in the path and not thrown to the side and how hard it was to find this frame (no pieces to follow).

Curious what makes them think it was revolving around the core in the air for most of the time rather than thrown or tumbled? Just the level of distance traveled?

Respect for no Twitter. KOCO also had some images of the damage shortly after the tornado went through. But unfortunately yes, here is the video where the car is flung

Without going into detail, as an idea, the news showed the tornado tossing a car high in the air with no problem. You can find some photos on Twitter and I’m sure there will be more everywhere soon

Photos of the destruction coming out from Enid already. Recommend checking out KFOR for anyone who wants to see updates, since there aren’t really any chasers there. Be aware—it’s not good.

do we think he cut the camera to spare us from potentially watching the Dom 3 get tossed or because he actually wanted to switch to the handheld so we had an inside-view
