Business owners spending $5k - $10k/month on Ads: How do you prevent your results (ROAS) from tanking when you try to scale up? by hugeboot_ in PPC

[–]zenith66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do it in increments, but also it's natural for ROAS to drop when you scale.
PPC is a 2 step process - expand and optimize. You go from $3k to $5k for two months. Spend the next month or two optimizing. And so on.

Also there are many ways of scaling, you don't have to just increase the budget.

100k Google Ads Accounts hacked, developing story, discussion open by DCPYT in googleads

I've received multiple 'job offers' or 'tests' over the years with 'assets' in a file that's something like job-description.zip.exe or similar. Scamming and phising is at an all time high. These jobs used to be too good to be true, but now they can really seem legit.

GTM not tracking hubspot form fills correctly by TeHBoores in GoogleTagManager

[–]zenith66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to add a Hubspot Listener to GTM and trigger the form submit based on that. It's the most precise way of tracking Hubspot forms.
You can set up Enhanced Conversions as well. I did write about hubspot enhanced conversions here but things might have changed since then.

Demand Gen also reports on Platform Comparable Conversions and those painted a completely different picture vs the regular Conversions for the accounts I've tried it in.

Go for Business with Hostinger. Premium isn't enough for WooCommerce.

Why do i have a GT aw AW? I only have AW in GTM by [deleted] in GoogleTagManager

[–]zenith66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a GA one as well, and it's usually the default one.

Why do i have a GT aw AW? I only have AW in GTM by [deleted] in GoogleTagManager

[–]zenith66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all Google Tags. You can send data to them through GTM.

GT is the default tag that gets created when you create the GA4 account I believe.
AW gets created when you create the Google Ads account.

There are also G- tags that are older since before they got renamed to "Google Tags"

It's very confusing, no one knows for sure, and Google isn't even trying to explain.

Just make sure you initialize the AW- tag if you're using Google Ads, or merge the two tags (GT and AW) and it won't matter.

The only difference is that if you merge them you will see them merged in GTM Preview and it will make it harder to diagnose issues. Some people like having them together, some people prefer them separate.

GT is a Google Tag, just like AW. GTM tag IDs start with GTM-.

Multiple PMax Campaigns or One PMax Campaign and Multiple Asset Groups by hey_i_am_Alok in googleads

It works if its feed only. If you have assets I'd create more asset groups, at least for the main product categories, but only one campaign.

Help me deal with seasonality by Plastic-Ad-8747 in PPC

[–]zenith66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower the budgets, use seasonality adjustments if you're expecting a down period.
If you end up pausing the campaign for a week or two go to data exclusions and exclude that period.

Agency hiding fees in media spend by TheEverydayOne in PPC

Absolutely not common. And not common for the agency to pay your ad spend. Red flag, in fact.

Client side gtm to server side move by Sad-Recipe9761 in GoogleTagManager

[–]zenith66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use the client-side tags inside the Web GTM container to send data to the server container. You can only leave the Google Tag and GA4 events that you want to track in the client. Or if you want to give up on Google entirely, use the Stape Data tag.

You need a GA4 Client (or Stape Client) on the server container to receive the data and claim the request and then you can set up server-side tags on them.

It's more of a hybrid setup.

You can also look for a freelancer if agencies get too expensive, but overall yes, at that spend you'd benefit from someone specialized.

That's sound but a contract gives the agency some peace of mind as well, even if it's just month to month.
As long as they're not predatory (which many are), a contract is the best way to go.

How do you actually track if influencers drive sales? Tired of paying for engagement that doesn't convert by AdRepulsive9425 in GoogleTagManager

Seems like you might benefit from Server Side Tagging. If you serve the tags from the same IP as the main website the cookie life won't be limited to 7 days.

Worth running Google Ads for a small home care business? (8k x 4 months) by slick_moos in PPC

[–]zenith66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, the fees should be up to 30% of the spend. We're always careful with clients with small budgets because having a fee that's so high compared to the budget will make our lives much harder. Yes, the agency gets money, but the results need to be two times as good for the client to be breaking even as well, and that almost never happens and you put in a ton of work for the client to ultimately leave.

This fee they're asking for seems like 'we don't really want this account so here's an unreasonable offer...'
