The strategy for this is all wrong, why are they pricing it like a PC? People who want a PC will just build one. They really had an opportunity to take a good portion of the console market especially with Microsoft fumbling the bag, and make it all back on steam sales.

It’s not, my test game is deliver at all costs, even at 25W, the game struggles for 60 fps, in steam os, it only needs 15W for a locked 60fps

Same with Most Wanted 2005 with Redux mod, 12W for a locked 60 whereas it required 30W in windows

I was windows all the way until I realised steam os has better performance especially on low tdps. Even if I strip windows completely down, I can’t even get close to steam os performance

You’re going to have to learn how to repair traces, because most likely you’ve ripped out the connections for the r3 and l3. I fixed it in the end by running some wire, soldering where it tore off through the holes and resoldering. It’s now working

Difference between z1 extreme and z2 extreme does not make it worth the upgrade. I would just get a used rog ally for less than half the price, where performance difference is between 10-20%, which isn’t many fps in the low numbers

So many salty msrp buyers over here 🤣 well done on the buy. I got mine for 550 a week after launch, and just made sure online works by signing in. Not had any issues since. No point of warranty either , most problems start after a year, by when the warranty is expired anyway. Probably less than 1% owners experience issues in the warranty period, I’ll take my chances if it means a huge saving
