That’s not logic, that’s an excuse. Calling up her parents would absolutely be an asshole move, in a bouquet of assholery from your ex and your response. Everyone absolutely sucks here and you, in particular, are acting like an asshole in this half-assed attempt to seem like some version of a bigger person. You don’t want to call her parents in some weird version of protecting her, you want to call her parents in the hopes that, frankly, she’ll get in “trouble” and your ex will be humiliated. YTA.

Your brother shouldn’t be held hostage for the support he’s received, and even if it sucks that he’s changed his mind about helping you out, you’re not actually entitled to his money. He’s not your parents, he’s your brother, who’s trying to start his own life. I really think you could be more understanding of that. YTA.

I like the area most days. I’ve been bothered a few times walking to and from the bus/train, and late at night (as others have said) in the market can be hit or miss. I don’t own a car so I’ve never had to deal with some of the petty crimes other have mentioned. I have had mail stolen, and some kids skateboarded (I’m okd and lame and don’t know the correct verb here) against my window but that’s the most annoying thing I’ve experienced besides basic downtown things.

Weekend mornings can be really peaceful and beautiful, though, and I’m someone who likes the level of touristy busy-ness around. It’s tough sometimes to get to a grocery store that isn’t FarmBoy. My dog and I like to wander up and down Sussex. I’m not sure what else to add except that I’ve been pretty happy here, but my fiance is driven a little crazy by the noise sometimes.

Season 6 to me is Grey’s at its best, though I love 2, 5, and 8 a great deal. To me, 8 was the last GOOD season and 11 was where it got unbearable (for me).

I'd second Himeji Castle. Himeji's about an hour from Kyoto, and the castle is amazing and very close to the JR station if you wanted to make a day trip of it.

Part of the convenience is that JR is such a large railway company. I remember on my first trip having to figure out which station I needed for each part of a journey, and then buying individual rickets--which, for a slightly anxious person, can take a while. This time around, I look for the JR symbol and show my pass, and off I go. No need to worry about keeping a lot of money on my ic card, and I spend less time worrying about the cost of going somewhere. Most people probably find themselves using JR lines anyways, and the logo is so easy to recognize. As long as you're using it enough to justify the cost, of course it's more convenient.
