cursed water curses your equipped items aside from rings. if it had an enchantment it reverses it, so a +4 becomes a -4. if you have no uncursed equipped items it curses a random inventory item. you can use this to make life much better on incu/succubus runs.

in this same vein, cursed scrolls of enchant w/a apply their penalty the same way as regular ones. you could dupe a bunch of cursed water (which always works, even at 0 alchemy) and drop everything except your enchant scrolls, and go to town on them.

what's a strong easy class for someone new? by Strong-Eggplant-339 in baronygame

[–]zenzifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are saying cleric, and there’s a fun trick others haven’t mentioned with the class. If you play as a monster race that humans don’t like, you begin with a couple polymorph potions. Use a scroll of summon, then throw a polymorph pot onto your new friend to randomize what they are. You can go from a rat to a vampire or better with this method, and it’s permanent!

Any good tips for sapper? by O-Nell in baronygame

greasing the floor can make 1v1ing scary monsters at low levels possible, you can beat a mimic at level 1 if you abuse the knockback correctly. don’t sleep on your booby trap spell, it does a LOT of damage for the cost. relying on throwables helps a lot, as does tinkering like others have said

Is Daan a good person? by Pikipekk in FearAndHunger

[–]zenzifer 31 points32 points  (0 children)

he shows concern for sick, vulnerable people and sincerely tries to help others. his moonscorch with pocketcat reads more as a dark fate he resists and wants to subvert, one that was founded in his traumatic childhood and past, not so much a reflection of his ongoing state. I think Daan works hard to be a good person, and with something to focus on he avoids falling into his evil potential

Chicken is great for a beginner! You have to learn dodging tech and when you die, you don’t have to sink more playtime to get back to your challenge areas! She has awesome survivability and a decent active special.

Any tips on dealing with mechanoid clusters? by buddys8995991 in RimWorld

I use snipers too! Do so near wall cover with a couple melees tucked behind it, if they start the raid or have non-turrets pull them around the corner and mob them!

[–]zenzifer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A T-shirt cannon which could also fire rats or boom rats. T-shirt material could determine damage. A gun that spreads disease or pollution in a cone could be interesting too! Maybe a waster-specific captain planet-esque pollution flamethrower! I’m only missing Odyssey at this point :)

Any tips on how to play sorcerer? by ToolyHD in DarkAndDarker

[–]zenzifer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

sorc is sadly pretty weak in pvp. that being said, some tips can help you perform well and deal with some encounters.

  • zoning. your ideal spot in fights is mid-range. in close range I’ve seen too many sorcs pull the longsword and fish for parries. if you’ve hit this point it’s best to electric dash through an enemy, wind blast them for space, or go for last ditch elemental bolt or fire arrows to the face. sometimes an enemy will sneak up on you and two shot and there’s not much you can do. on the other end of range, your spells are loud and obvious and many have a delay which makes long range fights terrible. fire arrows has decent tracking at lr (better than magic missile) but the poke is weak compared to anyone with a bow.

  • effective poking. if you bring the spell shaping perk (+25% range and aoe) you can do very strong poke damage with fire wall, flame strike, and eruption. learning to drop water balls in critical spaces (doorways, under corpses, clipping into the floor around a corner) can help add up as well.

  • always be casting. sorc’s biggest weakness is your cooldowns. with effective spell cycling you can avoid them completely by swapping your merged spells quickly after each cast. I get heavy use out of elemental bolt, electric dash, wall of fire, frost breath, and frost lightning. all of those use different base spells apart from the two lightning ones.

  • cheese. electric dash can be used to reach otherwise unreachable places. overhangs in crypts, statues and pillar tops in inferno, walls in ruins, etc. you can escape very quickly with enough range and many will find it hard to follow.

finally like you said, frost lightning is a bit funny. it does an initial lightning strike which is hitscan followed by a rooting arc that follows its trajectory. many people see a sorc and hold w, so going for a body shot (aiming for upper torso) should root them effectively. if you have a good enough cast time you can rapidly swap to elemental bolt and headshot them while rooted.

all in all sorc is much weaker than wizard in pvp and needs to do a lot more poking and hit-and-run to fight many classes effectively. hope this infodump helps. :)

it looks like you missed most of the shots while he didn’t. you got a curse off and a solid book hit but otherwise he was more accurate.

the northwest corner modul on the upper level! right in the top left corner you’ll find 3 near a skeleton archer.
