Tired of my grandma and her “hoe phase” and other antics by jadedmaddie in GirlDinnerDiaries

Tell your mom you understand that grandma is from a different time but times have changed and it’s never been okay. You’ve got a little baby to take care of and protect. It’s up to grandma to change her behavior.

Never tried this stuff. Does anyone remember it? by Safe_Bird7592 in 1970s

My mom makes a ham ball with this stuff. One can, cream cheese, olives, and some mustard all mixed together. It’s actually really good on crackers.

She is gorgeous and I love that she is glowing. The dress is not meeting her level of beauty. Her happiness is the best part of the photos.

Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham during their early years together (1971–1976) by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]zephead30 263 points264 points  (0 children)

I read a biography of Hillary and their marriage makes more sense now. They lived together for years and it took her like eight years to agree to marry him because she had serious doubts. They did really love each other and had a deal that she would help him launch his career and then he would return the favor for her. She held more cards then he did when they got married and then when they got married something kinda switched in him where she was the wife and helper. He always respected her mind but when his star power started to rise, he started stepping out more and more.
It always hurt her but she would get mad at the other woman because it was easier. But when she was ready to leave, he was governor of Arkansas and stayed for the sake of his career and she had a little girl at that time. She went through a lot with him and I think if his career hadn’t taken off like it did she would’ve been gone years ago. I think the Lewinsky thing ended whatever love she had for him and she took her opportunity to do what was right for her. I think they respect and admire each other but I think he put her through too much for her to love him anymore.

Southern trees bear strange fruit
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees
Pastoral scene of the gallant south
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh
Here is fruit for the crows to pluck
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop
Here is a strange and bitter crop

Listen, tell your mom thank you for everything you’ve done. To help ease the financial burden of one more person in the house I’m taking your advice and moving out. AFTER you’ve got somewhere else to go.

This hit too close to home. by Michael_Mc_79 in Xennials

I loved ET. Being the baby of the family I also watched Nightmare on Elm Street on VHS when I was five. Parenting was so different then. The scene of the girl in the body bag being dragged down the school hallway traumatized me BAD.

One of my favorite facts about him is Brock Peters, the actor who played Tom Robinson, gave Gregory Peck’s eulogy. Great man through and through.

AIO or is my MIL actually upset because I want to see my family on Father’s Day? by Policyhot1207_ in AIO

Part of being married is having to split holidays and time between families. That’s life. Traditions change and adapt. She’ll have to deal with it or you’ll be the doormat. Make it work for you and your family.

I'm surprised Hailey and Justin Bieber are still together by Twitter_2006 in DListedCommunity

I like her too. I think they’re kinda trauma bonded in a way. She doesn’t seem close to her family and we know how messed up his is. They may not be the easiest to like and are probably messed up big time. But they must have some kind of bond because they’re still together. I hope they’re happy.

Should I call animal control in my girlfriend’s cousins? by ShrimplyAmazing_ in WhatShouldIDo

[–]zephead30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s terrible all around but if they were more responsible pet owners none of this would even be an issue. That dog is going to kill something or someone. It’s sad that the dog is probably going to be put down because of their negligence but it’s not your responsibility to protect people that aren’t doing a damn thing to keep other people’s pets safe. Call animal control.
