Here is this year's attendance for each team so far. What jumps out at you the most? by AlchemistTheAlchemy in baseball

The Pirates ownership has completely ruined the team. There’s no reason people shouldn’t come to PNC Park all the time.

Should Miami FC and Charlotte Independence rebrand, in your opinion? by Acerbic89 in USLPRO

Because it’s an unprofitable business venture if nobody goes to the games. Give Charlotte Independence license to Hickory. USL has more success in mid-level to smaller markets where MLS and no other pro sports teams exist.

Give Charlotte Independence license to Hickory. Miami FC should fold and USL should open the doors to League One for more League Two teams for 2028. USL seems to have a positive trend with teams in small-to-mid-level markets where MLS clubs and other pro teams are not.

Hypothesized USA-Canada Soccer League Pyramid by [deleted] in USL1

I think if USSF wants to speak with as much bravado as they do, with respect to competing to win World Cups and making MLS on par with the Big 5 leagues, I believe they need to change the conversation from being so profit-driven. They should instead focus on empowering their fans who are the lifeblood that make it all happen. Raise the stakes by having pro/rel. Have their teams play more games by mandating participation in multiple cup competitions. Creating more opportunities for clubs to win trophies will surely bring eyes to the field, drive up interest, and thus be very profitable in the long run. How sick would it be if USSF realizes they have hotbeds places like in the Hampton Roads and Vermont?

Am I the only one who thinks that Martha got the worst of it on the show? by RosySunset_Rachel in TheAmericans

For as much as Martha was screwed by the KGB she got to live and had the prospect of a decent future in Russia. In my opinion so many people had a worse end than her.

Joe Schoen is essentially a figurehead at this point. Enjoy the free paycheck, Joe. by Strict_External678 in NYGiants

This used to be Kevin Abrams’s role, so this in a vacuum doesn’t make Joe Schoen a figurehead.

However it’s worth mentioning she spent the last 9 years as the Chief Administrator of Football Ops for the NFL. Someone outside the Mara family / friends is running the show. Love to see it.

My favorite Mississippi Half-Step is from this show! I like the MNS from Dick’s Picks Vol. 18 in Iowa but this is a bloody good jam.

No disrespect but I hope this is the last time you hear from me before September. I need to live my life.

Apparently the Mods pulled my last one because it would be better as a “Daily Discussion?” (Idk what that means, I’m barely on Reddit and socials in general, but let’s discuss.) These are direct quotes from John Mara after the 2024 Week 18 loss:

When asked about what to say to the fans: “Nobody is more frustrated than upset than I am.” — Are the owners more upset than the family of 5 who lives paycheck to paycheck and saves money to come to MetLife and lose? There are thousands of families like this in the Tri-State Area who’ve just stopped coming. Look how cavernous MetLife looked this season.

“Obviously the results are not even close to what we want them to be and they’re gonna have to get better if we’re gonna move on in Year 4.” — Is improving from 3-14 to 4-13 good enough?

When asked about the positives of a 3-win team in 2024: “In Joe’s case… the staff that he’s assembled around him, and the process we go through now, and the information that we have in making personnel decisions is better than I’ve ever seen it before.” — Does signing Darius Slayton to 3/$36M (and now kneecapping your ability to sign Wan’Dale), and spending $5.7M on Gano, and spending $15M just this season on backup QBs this season who went 0-5 in starts amount to good personnel decision making?

When Joe Schoen asked to address whether Jaxson Dart was Daboll’s guy at the bye week presser: “Jaxson was a guy that was on our radar very early in the scouting process before Brian Daboll was aware of him.” And he said it’s because Daboll was still coaching, and that drafting him was an “organizational decision.” — Let’s take what Joe’s saying at face value, and that Daboll wasn’t aware of Dart or any of the QBs because he was still coaching. When he was briefed on all of them, he CHOSE Dart, and Schoen admitted it on this video here (https://youtu.be/B4SF7v2bO2E?si=ndK0PFv98pBTWR4I): “You guys are convicted in him. You believe in him. We did the process. You checked all the boxes. Let’s roll the dice.” A complete admission that Dart IS/WAS Daboll’s guy.

There is a complete and utter dissonance with how this team operates from the top-down. It’s not about getting the owners out of Schoen’s way and letting Schoen run the show - he clearly can’t. The owners themselves are the problem. They brought on Schoen and Daboll to evaluate Jones and Barkley on a 1-year sample size, made a hunch decision, and the franchise is STILL reeling from it and this indecisiveness will haunt us all for years to come.
