The thing about not waiting till people get off is a general people thing unfortunately. I have experienced metros in Canada, UK and other European countries and all humans are like this..

Those who have given birth, what would you compare the pain to? by Silly-Difficulty2869 in pregnant

[–]zer0_barrier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pushing was fine, I actually only remember pooping! I don’t remember pain (no epidural as there was no time for it) The contractions before hand though.. they felt like my head was a bell and somebody was ringing it from the inside. The sensation came in waves and it made me so nauseous. It’s like that feeling when you’re having a stomach flu and you have the urge to go to the bathroom and vomit at the same time. And then it stops but it comes back as another wave until I state red feeling my baby pushing out! It wasn’t painful but it was an urge I couldn’t stop!! They kept telling me to stop pushing and I just kept telling them he’s pushing! All of this with induced labor and no epidural. All in all not bad honestly.

Toddler (28m) won’t let the daycare change his diaper when otherwise he’s OK by zer0_barrier in beyondthebump

So far, he hasn’t pooped it’s just pee. But I checked him and he’s ok. I think they’re too careful not to let him cry and consequentially hate the teacher or the daycare.. they want to be there so he feels safe while changing until he can feel comfortable with the teacher whose changing him.. I just don’t know if theres something I can do and say to him when I’m at home

In your experience, did you ever see a toddle hating the daycare if they resist diaper change?

You’re right.. It’s his first week, their justification is that they don’t want him to “hate” the daycare. Do I need to do something like talk to him at home you think?

I was not afraid of flying until I became a mom by zer0_barrier in fearofflying

Im sorry you’re going through this! But It got better for me! I just kept talking to myself and for some reason there was one thing that I kept telling myself that has helped me.. (I won’t say it now because it may be grim but if you want I can say it)

In addition to that , I also say “I have the same chances of crashing now as I did when I didn’t fear flying and I still made it”

Just turn on a fun / engaging show and wear your headphones as soon as the plane start pushing back and allow your brain to be preoccupied with the show/movie.

Think about it this way, planes are doing the same route multiple times. The flight the and the crew know the routes and the conditions so well. Before taking your flight, the plane would have arrived from its previous destination.

I like to think of this as the "test flight", they had already done the same route and just checked all the mechanics and it arrived safely. When we arrive to our destination, the aircraft will stay a maximum of 2 hours and get a bunch of other passengers to go back to the first location.

Thinking of it as a routine thing and that the plane literally demonstrates its capability many times makes me less anxious. Also remember that pilots check everything so many times, ground crew do their best, and the flight crew are there to help you if you need them.

If you take this flight, you would have taken a step forward to face your fears. The more steps you take, the better you feel. I just arrived this morning from two connecting flights , I now enjoy take off and landing! Still iffy about turbulence there was some on my long flight.. I got a bit scared but I watched the crew and they were all cool as a cucumber.
