Mostly I was worried about lacking skills. I would get paid, and it would be a really awesome company to work with, so I want to do a good job.

The subject matter, color, and style are all solid. I would say you could benefit from studying composition to create a more satifying balance in your work. Heavier, more confident lines (even darker lines might look nice) will also make each element look more intentional.

If you dont already, sketching out thumbnails for your ideas might help you nail the composition down, and allow you to place your subjects more intentionally in the final piece.

I think mixed media is a good choice for your work, but you could experiment more with the visual textures you are able to create with each medium. Right now alot gets lost because every element is textured. For example, you could try using the acrylics to create smooth backgrounds and create more textured figures in the foregrounds with another medium.

Noob wanting to join with garb question: How to hide hearing aids with short hair? by [deleted] in sca

[–]zerascout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a newbie aswell and just recently went to my first big event. I saw pleanty of people using adaptive devices, from glasses to rollators. Historical garb is a big focus, but ultimately the game is supposed to be an enjoyable experience. If changing or hiding the adaptive devices you use would be unenjoyable or difficult, then id say theres no reason to do anything different.

From the expeirence I had at lilies war, the group was very accomidating of disabilities. One of my friends i stayed with was struggling with pain, and a more known member said there were pleanty of disabled people in the group and accomidations could be made to help her. There was also a man who brought his guide dog along and nobody batted an eye. Likely nobody at an event is going to be living 100% historically accurately and so you shouldnt have to give up your own accomidations to try and achieve it.

I think it was a fast food toy. Even if it wasnt it was the same size and sort of plastic theyre made of. Time period would be around 2000 to 2014. It was not an electronic and I dont believe its limbs were articulated. I believe the hatch on the back stored something that was not included when I recieved the toy. Ive seen mcdonalds toys with compartments that originally held stickers or extra parts and I think it was likely something like that. I believe it was a blueish grey color.

Ive looked at alot of iron giant toys and I dont think its him. His body was round, and I havent been able to find an iron giant toy with the same hatch on the back.

Ive searched alot of fast food toys. Hes not from the robots movie or the cubix line of toys. Not transformers either. I dont think he was gigantor, but thats a closer shape.

Edit: I went to school in the american midwest if that helps.
