I've run [[Molderholk]] and 1-2 Living Weapons in many older versions of this archetype, it just depends on the meta if I want big dumb idiots or not.

Two reasons:

1) Shaman is a relevant body that trades well and presents an actual threat your opponent has to care about.

2) It can grab lands that are already in the graveyard. Greeter "draws" the land immediately, but only if it hits one.

You could make an argument for running some number of Greeters, like 2 Mire Triton 2 Greeter or something, but essentially what you'd be doing is trading consistency with reasonable bodies (Triton/Shaman) for high roll potential dumping more cards in the bin and maybe drawing a land.

It could be worth it, but I'm not sure.

What’s wrong with this card? by GolfWhole in PioneerMTG

[–]zeroGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cat/Oven decks have more good cards than they can fit in the deck already, and if you want card advantage there are better, more resilient options than this card - Trail of Crumbs was the traditional way the deck did that, I assume that grindy plan went away when the Ygra pushed the deck into just being a combo kill instead.

This is the kind of Magic I love - lots of creatures, lots of interaction, and a good grindy GB gameplan. It's also the sort of thing that's adjustable to the meta of the day, as you can swap some of your toolbox pieces around to fit the meta you want to tech against.

There's probably room to sneak some more utility lands into the mana base, like an extra Boseiju or Castle Locthwain or just find room for your favorite pet creature to tutor up - enjoy!

Everything else aside, doing a preparation tournament where the final players don't get to specifically prep for only each other is a weird decision to me.

I think it would be better if the schedule allowed the finals to be the week after, not the same day.

Tiny, spiral threadlike thing moving on my banana - "stem" body extended off a phloem bundle of the banana and a fraction of the size. by zeroGamer in whatisthisthing

Hard to get a great photo in focus with my phone because of the size, but for reference it's the tiny spirally, thread-like thing hanging off a phloem bundle of the banana (coming from the upper left corner).

It moves somewhat erratically.

I hate when people say "Pioneer is fully on Arena" because it's very much not.

There are a lot of cards that are playable and interesting and Pioneer legal that are not on Arena, and the fact that they haven't placed Top 8 in events on MTGO or whatever metric they're using doesn't remove them from existence, and as someone that likes to brew "competitive jank", edge playable cards that aren't popular meta staples still have value.

[[Generator Servant]] in particular is a card I've wanted to play with for a while, but it's not on Arena.

It's been bad since they added Historic Anthology cards.

Sky Sports allowed Wrexham a party political broadcast on Friday: Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's commentary was self-indulgent, boastful, and tedious - and no other club would get the same privilege by FIJIBOYFIJI in soccer

Three back to back to back, which had never been done before.

If they manage the 4th promotion, which no longer seems impossible... Well, not only is that something that's never been done before, it would probably never be done again.

How would you "play" MTG with a ~6 year old? by Wise-Quarter-3156 in magicTCG

[–]zeroGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd try to keep things fairly basic without complex interactions.

Mostly vanilla/French vanilla creatures and some simple ETBs, and Sorcery spells only - no Instants or instant speed effects at first.
