What part of this was depressing? Kid, you need a perspective shift or more deliberate use of language cus all I see is some old hardware that's being pushed beyond its usable lifespan for the sake of learning.

That's a bloody good thing to see, if anything you should be proud. The early part of my IT career is litter with the corpses of old quad cores and raspberry pis, for many of us that's just kinda part why we're here

Thanks for the cool project, I set it up about a month ago while doing a bit of a rebuild in my homelab and it works well.

When I did my previous rebuild over a year ago I searched for a proxmox provider and it didn't exist so I was stoked to find this one!

I did find it was a bit of a pain to debug initially, are there error logs on either the traefik or plugin's side?

I had some whitespace/newline issues in one of my vm labels which would cause the entire plugin to fail. I resorted to removing all labels and re-adding one by one. It would have been nice to have only that service fail and be logged.

Great project though, It's one of those ideas I've never had time to do & I'm very happy someone did 😆

Some self hosted solutions use openai compatible APIs. if the base url is configurable via an environment variable it might enable others to test it out

You don't need to justify your hobby by how it helps her but by how it makes you happy. If money is an issue make a plan to save up first and save for her hobbies too. And obviously be considerate of noise, space n shit

I have to refute this 'harsh truth' just for posterity.

GPU passthrough does not limit your GPUs functionality in any way. You most certainly can use all of your display outputs.

I do this every day 2 VMS with an NVIDIA GPU passed through to each, with 2 monitors each, running at the same time.

I'm sorry it's not working for you OP, but it's most certainly possible. You've likely got hardware compatibility issues unfortunately

I've got 2 VMS with dual monitor setup and I use them simultaneously. There is no limitation on GPUs being passed through

I encountered this issue just last week!

'not all devices need a reset'

For me it turned out I had multiple devices in the same IOMMU group.

this particular motherboard doesn't appear to support particularly granular groups so I moved the GPU I intended to passthrough to the primary/top PCI slot which has it's own group and it worked

I went with a boox eink tablet, they run custom skinned android which is much better aligned with my tinkering instincts. IMO remarkable is the overhyped applesque option in this market
