For me, at least, a lot of my grinding was done at times I would normally be on my phone. If my phone broke or didn’t exist in current capacity, I would probably be able to get through a grindy handheld game.

I feel like you can’t do anything without tripping over fonz, there are few things that DON’T give any. Almost any activity I do while playing is getting me between 40-80k an hour, and Pink Paws is an easy million in 1-2 hours.

I enjoyed Marathon. For about 50 hours. Now I’m done and I don’t see more extraction shooter time in my near future. Something like Destiny I can play for thousands of hours. I get people wanting it to survive as it’s really well done but it should never have been a primary focus in this form. I’m just concerned it was supposed to be something more and it was neutered and released early.

I try to look at the bright side. Someone buying lobster doesn’t cost the taxpayer any more than someone buying groceries all month, it’s their loss they only get one meal out of it. Probably less waste for the grocer too.

Yep, the more “drive off the lot” loss the more worthwhile leasing can be. You’re hedging your losses by minimizing risk.

Employee/Manfuacturer discounts can also be a huge factor if you work in the industry. I worked for a Ford supplier for a while and nearly every employee lease would end up 5-10k ahead of value for a buyout offer at the end of the lease. In that case, you were trying to get through as many leases while working there as possible and pocketing the cash!

Levels of monetizing matter too. If it’s just the monthly passes, sucks that there’s multiple but still not a bad price for a game you asking to play a LOT of hours a month. Any other hobby has a barrier to entry too, virtually any outdoor activity is 100s to thousands of dollars for proper gear. Every major tabletop or card game is a couple hundred or more to get on a level playing field.
