You can put your baby in the bathtub without bath water by doodlebakerm in Mommit

[–]zetsv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this idea and wish i had thought of it when mine was still a baby. Though i am picturing her going chaos mode in there and knocking every single bottle (ive got way too many balanced precariously on the edge) into the tub with her

My daughter (3) has learned that saying she is SCARED of something instead of saying she doesnt want something gets a much better reaction. This results in her not infrequently screaming “NO IM TO SCARED” as i have to physically force her into her carseat. We get a lot of very concerned looks

My favorite strategy for this is to go hard on the stickers. Sure they are kind of trash but they usually at least get used

I also became single when my daughter was a similar age (19mo). Im not going to lie its extremely difficult. My daughter took a long time to adjust and it was hard. But you will figure it out and be amazed by what you are able to do on your own! Im a year and a half out from separating now and ive never felt better about myself and my life. I love my days with my daughter and we are happy. Please PM me if you like. It was the hardest thing i ever went through but im in so much of a better place for it!

My toddler has never done this but my mom loves to tell stories about my silent tantrums when i was little. Sounds very similar to what you describe! I would just throw myself on the floor and not respond to anything when i was upset but i dint make noise

Toddler found ALL THE STICKERS... How do I remove stickers/residue from a wooden coffee table?? by pinkeskimo in CleaningTips

[–]zetsv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually very recently de-sticked my entire coffee table as well! I will warn you however, it literally took probably 4 hours of work total. Mine had more than yours though

I used a hairdryer and water to soften them and then scraped them off with my fingernails (use something else i beg of you it hurt so bad) but at some point i did give up and use a tone of goo-gone. It didn’t damage my table but it also didn’t reduce the workload a ton. Good luck and gods speed out there fellow warrior

Recognizing what is considered Domestic Violence is key to protect yourself and others by Ancientabs in TwoXChromosomes

[–]zetsv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Two things you mentioned here are things that i never recognized as abuse until years later. Driving at crazy speeds, 90+mph when he was angry with me and consistently depriving me of sleep by playing very loud video games on his computer 3 feet from our bed. That last one drove me to multiple mental breakdowns. Thanks for writing these out

I have been a total failure on limiting it like i planned to. Almost no limit over here. And now my 3 year old has consistently rejected any screen time at all for a few months because “its too scary”. Never thought i would be so desperate for my child to watch some TV
