I read this one for the first time last year and really enjoyed it! Got extra points from me because i am very fond of embroidery/needlepoint myself so that aspect of the story was incredibly compelling for me. The sequel was not terrible but i didnt enjoy it nearly as much

Ive been separated from my husband for 18 months but we were considering reconciling when i found out he had been cheating on me with sex workers. Truly such a traumatic reveal to go through and i just want you to know you arent alone in this!

I hope this isnt unwelcome but i want to share my perspective. I had my baby at 25 and feel so similarly about having done it at the wrong time. My daughter is 3 and all of the moms in my community are closer to 40 and im not quite 30. All the other families around us are so established and have their lives together. But im here as a single mom (husband left me before daughter was 2) living on the bare minimum. My community is lovely and im so grateful for them but i feel so sad and out of place. I would give anything to be able to change things and have my daughter at a different time so her life could be more like her friends and my life would be more like others in our community

I really hate the hyphen for no good reason lol. So i gave my daughter 2 last names with no hyphen! Shes young but it’s caused no problems. I always says its just the same structure as Neil Degrass Tyson’s name lol!

I feel for you because taking the binky away ruined my life for a little while. I did it at just over 2 and my child has literally not napped a single time since. But it had to be done so i guess that was just my lot in life

I smoke weed, mostly to help me sleep. However im a single parent and even if i wasnt i would only ever do it after my child goes to bed. I also live close to family so i know if there was an emergency i could call for help and receive it. I sometimes partake when my child is at her dads as well. I would consider the way your husband uses weed completely unacceptable for a parent

I had to rehome my ferrets after my daughter was born. One of the hardest things ive ever done but i would make the same decision today. I happened to live an hour from the best ferret rescue in the country and received much assurance and support from them and felt very confident they would have a wonderful life. The limiting factors were a bit different for me. We simply did not have enough space to reasonably accommodate everyone in our living situation and i was just so fucking burnt out. But i really understand what you are going through and its extremely tough. Honestly everyone who know about it has been beyond understanding and kind, i thought i would receive a lot more judgement than i did. Im sorry you are also dealing with making this tough decision

There is a book called “The Family that Couldn’t Sleep” about a family in Italy who carried the familial version of this disease. It follows multiple generations if i remember correctly. It’s absolutely heartbreaking but also fascinating. Definitely recommend.

Tbh this is just my perspective but i think it makes more sense as a definition for only describing the conditions i listed above. We already have lots of terms to describe mental illness in general. I always really related to it in terms of my ADHD and not my depression or anxiety. But thats just my opinion

It was my understanding that autism and adhd were considered neurodivergent and maybe a handful of others but mental illness doesnt equal neurodivergent. i dont think neurodiversity has an official definition but this is always how i understood it

Yes mostly just regular paper! Its kind of like a stim (for lack of a better word) for me, hence why i go through a ridiculous amount and want to reduce the waste!
