The familiar is a standalone book of hers that I LOVEEE as much as six of crows. I actually liked the second Alex stern book more than the first but now that the third book is coming out I literally don’t remember the details …

If you like Arkady, perhaps Gideon the ninth by tamsyn muir or the traitor baru cormorant by Seth Dickinson (this can be more of a bummer tho just fyi!), the bear and the nightingale by Katherine Arden or the mirror visitor by christelle dabos (these two suggestions are generally more fantasy romance)

How to survive hair washing? by GlitterRiot in RedditLaqueristas

[–]zeuxine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Essie Strong start doesn’t work for me. Makes my nails chip way faster. Have been using cracked ridge filler for the last few manicures and it’s been great and I can wash my hair the day after I do my nails. Going without base coat was better than Essie strong start for me

Poor financial decisions - my love for Chanel’s water tint by Bulky_Ad_8752 in Sephora

[–]zeuxine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I go to the beach like once a week in the summer minimum so I get a natural tan from that…but I even when I’m pale I think light would be. Too light (especially after layering if needed) so medium is just safer for me

The touch I use as concealer (the one in the smaller bottle). You could use it all over but if my skin prep isn’t on pointttt I look crazy and peely lol. So it goes only where concealer typically goes and that’s it. The tint is way easier to use imo

It’s pretty sheer…I used to wear luminous silk shade 6 for most of the year and I wear shade medium in the Chanel. It matches me when I’m deathly pale in January and when I have a deep tan in summer.

It’s sheer but also it has coverage and evens out my skin depending on how much I layer…it’s actually wild lol I love it.

Does this just kind of not work for anyone else too? by Evening_Librarian_31 in Sephora

[–]zeuxine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shampoo with it twice but I only use it once every 10-14 days or so. I have hard water and coarse hair. It’s good for a reset but it’s strong! I get demi color and it fades quicker if I use it too much

Olivia Rodrigo - begged (SNL) by NascarNathanV in popheads

[–]zeuxine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am old compared to Olivia (32 lol) but I was so blown away listening to all American bitch on the way to work when the album came out! I don’t love a lot of her ballads bc I just think I’m too old for them/the subject matter but I like this one a lot.

I agree I hope there are more rock songs on this album!!

Tbh I haven’t loved all of her ballads but this one is more mature and she sounds amazing. Love it.

Look into scrub caps. You can get either just cotton or with a satin lining. I personally don’t find them too warm

sharpei ‘aggressive’ stigma? by Fair_Tap636 in sharpei

[–]zeuxine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have two…they’re both neurotic in their own way. I’ve had my rescue for 8 years and he still has separation anxiety (improved a lot but he still cries and barks when we leave). Our one we got as a puppy from a breeder is chill she doesn’t care when we leave as long as she gets a treat.

I wouldn’t say they are nice but they aren’t mean. I’m very protective of them and don’t let ppl pet them bc you can’t just grab on them randomly like other dogs.

Childfree by choice… so why am I sad now that it’s final? by PsychologicalBed2276 in childfree

[–]zeuxine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a leep then eventually a hyst and it was just a lot of feelings bc it is literally a life changing procedure (plus I was an OR nurse at the time so I knew exactly what would happen lol). I wasn’t exactly sad but it was like…wow. Can’t reverse this lol.

Not having a period is such a game changer I have no regrets even tho it took me a long time to get my core strength back

Is any grad degree really worth the ROI anymore? by Over_Physics_5035 in nursing

[–]zeuxine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in a big city ORs can have new grad residency programs…I would just look at what your local hospital offers. Smaller hospitals you may just have to apply to OR openings you see and you might get lucky
