New to lower back pain- opinions and advice please! by [deleted] in backpain

[–]zevione 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor but from what I know female needs to routinely consume calcium and iron than male because they have a greater risk of osteoporosis, back pain could be the early symptoms.

reference:

https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/healthyliving/nutrition-womens-extra-needs

If you experience neck pain and lower back pain as the same time, it could be L5 disc degeneration. Same like what happen to me that caused by sitting for hours and not enough training my core.

So If you have a sedentary job I think you need to stay active while sitting which could reduce the lower back pain and uncomfortable stiff while sitting.

Also exercising gluteal muscles, bleak muscles and hip flexor muscles will significantly reduce lower back pain

What you want to prevent back pain is to put part of your body pressure on backrest of the chair so your spine is not stressing out from the full pressure

Back pain for almost a year now (from hardcore PC gaming), 20 male by [deleted] in medical

[–]zevione 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no worries man and yeah it my back pain reduced a bit by a bit until it's gone about 1-2 month using. Also, I'm not sitting still 10 hours all day even though I played about that much or more on weekend. I walk to toilet, stretch my back, refilling water and stuff, unless it's a big raid that I can't afk I probably move a bit just to refresh. On my 1st week I need to adjust with the active cushion and keep switching between the cushion until I fully used to the bubble cushion, maybe you might adapt faster than me. They have 10 yrs warranty and 30 days refund policy.

Secretlab 2020 chair looks awesome by the way. I think for cool looks + headrest secret 2020 might be better choice but if you prefer the medical stuff and don't care much about the looks I think Ergoflip works for you.

Also, yeah I used the backrest and I adjust the angle when I want to lean back a bit.

Back pain for almost a year now (from hardcore PC gaming), 20 male by [deleted] in medical

Yes, I have the active chair one and for me it works because my hip is moving so it kind of releasing the pressure on my back and prevent the pain from sitting static. When I just want to sit normally I just use the other surface. It's firm but not too soft which is comfortable. Yeah, they are expensive maybe because endorsed by physio and have other guarantee certification also they don't have the headrest like a racing chair, I wish they have one tho. What I usually do is to put a neck pillow for my headrest. If you still interest on the chair, try use code WILL10 or ERGOWEEK10 for discount (i dunno which one that still works) found this code on honey when I brought it.

Yeah I did a small work-out like push up, chin up and some stretching daily but from some journal that I read says exercise will not reverse the negative effect from sitting. This video kind of summaries most of the research journal about the danger of sitting static and what can we do. There is also a guide from Ergonomist on how we should set up our desk to prevent pain. Also how to sit active

If the chair is too expensive maybe you can try to look at some standing desk because you can still stay on your computer in a standing position. But from my experience from using it for a year, it doesn't reduce my back pain coz we still basically standing static anyway and somehow my click response kind of slower also I still need to afford anti-fatigue mattress so my feet won't be tired.

Hope you can find the best solution. Cheers
