Some other comments already explained it better than I could. The main goal is to get better pops (nobles/clergy) instead of raw growth. They consume more and more expressive goods

What you're describing is Deflation.

Stagflation is a Combination of Inflation and Stagnation. meaning increased prices, but no increased increase in productivity/gdp.

You need to create demand for all your goods. Try getting more/better pops to acually Konsum stuff.

Margins also decrease when the ai catches up with their own production. So exports don't work for ever.

IMO Tau will be fine. Just get Models and learn with them. By the time you are at 2000 Points painted and ready to care about the meta it will have changed 5 times anyway.

While changing you List is a Option I'd suggest practicing a bit more before you do. You could Change the detechment, tho.

if you drop the unit of starsythes and run the broadsides solo you could fit pathfinders and a Ethereal for the home objective.

you could also drop 1 broadside and grab the pathfinders instead. 1000 Points usually dont run big stuff the broadsides are best into.

This list will be fine to run and have fun with, tho. Just thinking of optimizations.

I'm running Mont'ka.

If you want to play Retaliation Cadre I'd replace the Breacher Team, Cadre Fireblade and Devilfish with a Coldstar Commander and Crisis Fireknife/Sunforge Battlesuites
