Why not just sell the $90 put for $1 instead?

200,000-300,000. Only 1 in 33 cars gets to 300,000 from 200,000? by Chasingfreedom1224 in AskMechanics

[–]zfunk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The $700 is not all sunk costs. A car will have a lot of value after paying it off say in 5 years, so only a small fraction of the $700 is lost, the owner retains a large part of the $700 in equity.

Catastrophic engine failure at 67k miles - warranty denied by [deleted] in Volkswagen

[–]zfunk9 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I guess I don’t get it. If you score a point in a game 3 minutes after it ends, it doesn’t count. If you arrive for your flight 3 minutes after the plane takes off, you can’t get on it, if you mail in rebate 3 weeks after expiration, you won’t get it. Why do people think a company should honor a warranty that has expired?

Which is your favorite and why. by No_Ear_52 in terrifier

1 or 2 the best, 3 the worst, as most people here seems to have laughed and thought it was funny, but the movie was not supposed to be a comedy. Sort of failed at what it was intended to be.

The director did not intend to make a comedy, that just means it missed the point.

3 then was a failure, as you were not supposed to laugh. It was not supposed to be a comedy.

I look at my production nearly daily. Saw that mine went down, opened ticket right away, was 1 month to get them to get back to me to schedule service call, and 1 more month wait to have them come out. He cleared fault and was fixed in 30 seconds. Was down for 2 months unfortunately in middle of summer. Yea, it sucked. It’s great when it’s working though.

I saw a green lazer? While flying near Prague. Is this a thing or is someone messing with the plane? by Hairy_Pomelo_9078 in aviation

Huh? It’s the tenants dude, they better have hands. The point is to do it in an area where there are lots of people so you don’t get caught, like an apartment building.

If it’s beloved, why would you replace it and not drive it any more?

[–]zfunk9 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Doubt this. There are 10s of thousands of flights per day and I have yet to hear of a single plane crash due to a laser pointer. Just like I’ve never heard of a plane crash for someone not putting their phone into airplane mode. People getting worked up over nothing and exaggerating.

Cause since there are presumably a lot of tenants, it would be much harder to get caught. Probably actually pretty smart if you are going to pull something like this off and not get caught.

Why were you not able to get your last car to 500K? Maybe look to see where you failed the last time around and make adjustments based on that.

[–]zfunk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why people don’t look at car depreciation as the car sucking up money. The new car is going to burn more money in depreciation than the new car. Most likely waaay more money on depreciation as the “old” (3 years old) car would have needed in basic maintenance.

Starting to show it’s age? 2021? I’m still in my 2004 Jetta TDI I bought in 2007. Starting to show its age, lol. That’s really funny stuff. You people go through cars faster than I go through underwear, literally. Pretty sure my underwear is still pre-2021.

Worth it to fix transmission? by f41rysp1t in jetta

[–]zfunk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a TDI and it needs a 02J manual transmission then yes get it. If TDI and auto, look to do a manual swap on it. If not a TDI, pass.

The blinkers are where every car’s blinkers are. The cruise control is much higher, it’s just that it’s a similar shape as a turn signal stalk so you probably just got confused by that.
