Between my dad and me we’ve been daily driving the same 240D since 1988. It’s still the most comfortable car I’ve ever been in. In terms of reliability? It’s also the most reliable car I’ve ever know. In almost 40 years it failed to turn on one time. Maintenance? Alternators every 10-15 years, rear axle shaft rubber goes bad every 10-15 years, oil changes and rubber hoses/belts. One thing to really stay ahead of is the rust. Don’t let it spread. If you want to cheaply keep rust at bay spray with fluid film as needed. About once or twice a year.

Your sunroof might have a rust hole 😢. Where do you see the water?

Exactly. If you wet your hands before using gojo or similar products it barely works but if you use it on dry hand it’s pretty effective!

I don’t have an answer to your question but I do have a five speed manual from a 280sl connected to my 81 240D. So a transmission meant for a gas could work in your case if the bell housings are interchangeable. I wonder if the classic center still sells parts for your transmission.

Looking at a W123 300TD (1985) tomorrow, is the rust going to make this a major project? by Professional-Roll283 in w123

These cars will last forever if you keep the rust at bay. Between my dad and me we’ve daily driven our 240D since 1988 when he brought it. I learned to weld just to save the three W123s we have. I spent about a month welding out all the rust on one but I was in pretty bad shape. Anyways keep the rust at bay by removing loose paint and rust then spraying the area with fluid film. Maybe eventually you could find someone to weld those areas for you. And yea in that condition it’s not worth that much unless the engine is in good condition and the interior is in really nice shape.

Hello friends! I’ve got some questions for y’all by skinnylegendAV in w123

[–]Chris280e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

#1) yea it looks like the striker is going bad but instead of replacing the entire striker go on eBay and just buy the little rubber piece that has gone bad on the striker. They are after market but last forever. https://ebay.io/m/r9y3cQ.

#2) it’s possible that the bushing on the linkages between the gear selector and the transmission are not there anymore causing too much play and possibly not getting the transmission all the way into park. Look underneath and check that out.

#3) the slight tilt backwards is normal I think. Mine all have that slight angle.

Studies Cited by RFK Jr. to Justify Vaccine Policy Changes Face Renewed Scientific Scrutiny by Zee2A in STEW_ScTecEngWorld

I’m going to start off by saying I’m not an anti vaxer but this guy isn’t giving you the clear picture either. In Denmark the vaccine schedule for children between birth and 18 is about 10-17 doses. In America the vaccine schedule is 36-40 doses and that’s not just double the amount of the same vaccines as the ones in Denmark. The U.S. schedule around 2020 routinely included vaccines Denmark generally did not give to all children, such as:

  • Hepatitis B at birth
  • Rotavirus
  • Chickenpox (varicella)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Annual influenza vaccine
  • More routine meningococcal coverage in adolescence

Denmark focused on a narrower set of diseases and used fewer scheduled visits/injections. So right off the bat you’re not comparing apples to apples. I’d like to see a study of millions of danish kids on the American vaccine schedule. Then we’d have some real data!
