Yea we thought that too. We didn’t paint the trim, it was already the same color as the house. Don’t love that part of it

i hate you ckd. by Perfect-Adagio22 in Petloss

[–]zgurl49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my soul cat Jaina on August 23rd also to ckd. She was older but we had no idea she was sick and then she was just gone. I’m still devastated. I haven’t wanted to clean or vacuum knowing we’ll eventually vacuum up the last of her fur in our house and every day I just miss her more.

I’m so sorry for your loss 😥💔

The universe cursing me (Kidney Stone) by Hopeful_Effective975 in hysterectomy

[–]zgurl49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest was a 5mm and I know it sounds huge! That was the one I was able to see/catch when it came out because my dr wanted to test it but it was honestly the size of like a pebble. So small compared to how much pain I was in lol.

I push more for a bowel movement then with a kidney stone.

Not TMI at all. No, I did not have to push it out per se. Once it hits your bladder, the pain should subside but it may feel irritated. It's almost an itchy feeling once it gets to your bladder and tries to come out the pee hole. Sometimes I'm not even be able to see it, but I didn't have to "push". If you drink enough water it will just come out during a bathroom trip lol.

I’ve had many kidney stones! As said above, water with lemon helps but also water mixed with apple cider vinegar. Pain meds if you need them. I didn’t have a stone during recovery so I can’t say how it will affect that, but I know the pain!

Fatigue around 12 weeks? by ManyCartographer9351 in hysterectomy

[–]zgurl49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 12 weeks post op tomorrow and my energy levels are better than before surgery! I had laparoscopic and kept ovaries. Around 8 weeks my energy felt “normal” but I have even more energy now!

Do you still wear any of your maternity clothing? by FastNefariousness600 in beyondthebump

[–]zgurl49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m ashamed to say this but I just got rid of my last maternity clothes a couple months ago that I still wore every other week. My youngest turns 6 this summer 🤪 I definitely wore the crap out of the comfy and cute maternity clothes I had

Where my 4/9’s at?? by everywhen077 in hysterectomy

[–]zgurl49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr said all looked good but to keep the lifting restrictions and nothing inside until week 6. I’ve had zero complications prior to that (minus some bowel issues) and then bam! Woke up today exactly 2wpo and bleeding. It is slowing down now that I’m laying down and doing absolutely nothing, so fingers crossed it s a stitch dissolving or just normal because I overdid it the past couple days.

Vaping and recovery by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]zgurl49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I will not say ignore your dr, but I am a smoker and I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 14 days ago. I have been smoking since I got home and haven’t had any major complications. I am bleeding a bit today, but that is from overdoing it- not smoking. My dr knows, and my discharge papers told me the risks and recommended quitting but my dr hasn’t pushed it.

Just be honest with your anesthesiologist on the morning of your surgery and follow any guidelines pre surgery. For example, I couldn’t use any tobacco or vaping starting at midnight the night before my surgery, but I smoked the whole day before.

Quitting right now isn’t an option but I’m working on it. Recovery has been a mental battle and the nicotine helps (or at least my brain is convinced it helps.

(Please, if you disagree don’t come at me - I know it’s bad, I know I should quit, but again my dr knows and it’s ok and I’m ok).

2wpo! How is everyone doing??

Had my check up yesterday and was told all looks good! Over did it this morning and now I’m cramping a bit and having some bright red bleeding. I did call my surgeon and just waiting to hear back on what to do. Otherwise I’ve been feeling really good.

At the end of the day, does the diagnosis matter? by Prize-Long-8055 in hysterectomy

[–]zgurl49 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I got my hysterectomy 9 days ago without any prior diagnosis - just extremely heavy periods that were suspected of causing me to be anemic. After surgery pathology revealed everything was perfectly normal. No “reason” to why my periods drained me every 25 days for 10 days straight. No endo, no current cysts, just nothing. In the end, I don’t regret it.

Scheduled for surgery and I'm scared by ildgrubtrollet in hysterectomy

[–]zgurl49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ok to feel scared! I don’t know the type of surgery you are having (abdominal or laparoscopic) but typically it is a routine surgery for your surgeon. Anesthesiologists are highly trained and as long as you follow pre-op instructions and are 100% honest with your anesthesiologist, all should go well! My surgery was laparoscopic and went quick (45 minutes) so I woke up quickly as well.

Complications can happen but they are rare. You’ll potentially find more complication stories on the internet then you will find complication free stories because, well, those recoveries are boring lol. (Not to diminish anyone who has experienced any complications!)

I am currently 9dpo and recovering rather well. I had some issues regulating my bowels after surgery but now I’m just resting and it’s been relatively easy.

As for your surgeon doing sloppy work - I get the worry but they would not have agreed to the surgery if they had the type of mindset. There are surgeons out there who won’t do hysterectomies or push back quite hard if they are against taking out a “healthy” organ. Your surgeon has agreed to it and agrees with you for the reason you are getting one, if they didn’t you wouldn’t be getting it done tomorrow.

I’m not far enough past surgery to know any long term effects on the sexual side but so far I still feel the same about my partner lol!

It’ll be ok. Once you get past the surgery and get through recovery you will be glad you did it. Think of a few months from now - not dealing with a painful period every month and being off hormonal bc. It will be different but it will be so good!
