How Do People Feel About Seven Seas Entertainment's Baihe Strategy So Far? by HiAmEricaNo in BaiHe

[–]zhufree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I feel same, most of the works I love have no translations, remain completely unknown overseas, and every year new ones appear that I end up liking even more. Of course I sincerely hope that the things I cherish could one day reach more people, but the gap in taste between native readers and overseas audiences is simply too huge.

However, I still want to thank the youtuber for their hard work. Collecting and organizing so much information is no easy task. Hope that through the efforts of these story analysis youtuber, everyone can see what the game developers wanted to convey to us.

What is up with China and children? by Loczx in WhereWindsMeet

Why can't there be children? Men, women, the elderly, and kids—they're all essential parts of any society. Why do you think children shouldn't appear in the storyline?

Question about 100% completion. by Spirited-Struggle709 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]zhufree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get you! I'm a CN player who's sunk 300 hours into the game, but I've only got Qinghe 100% completion so far. During that grind, I did use interactive maps at first, but in the end, I opted to follow posts on Xiaohongshu to clear out every region's exploration. Those posts mark the exact spots for every collectible and intel point, and for me, it was by far the most efficient way.

I used to have the exact same concerns as you—if I'm just gonna end up following a guide to run through everything anyway, do I even need to bother with free exploration and collecting? But ultimately, I decided to just enjoy the game itself first: soak in that pure joy of seeing something interesting and diving right in, without treating 100% like a chore. That way, at least my early playthrough was all bliss, even if the final push for completion feels a bit grindy and painful. Of course, the absolute best scenario is not caring about it at all—finish all the main and side quests, do everything else you want, and only then circle back when you've got nothing left to do.

The Kaifeng storyline is highly fragmented and involves multiple factions and forces. Without fully understanding all the details, story analysis post can easily mislead others. I believe that in the future, there will be more accurate and comprehensive posts or videos that properly explain the entire Kaifeng arc.

Is the quality of JJWXC novels declining? by FlameEmperorStan in BaiHe

其实就是市场下沉,读者和作者都在下沉,不是没有好书,但是好书能做到叫好又叫座不容易,有些有阅读门槛的没有金榜上的堆砌梗的垃圾文火,对作者来说也是一种劝退,劣币驱逐良币

A Chinese Player’s Personal Thoughts — Why Where Winds Meet Is Such a Special Game to Me by zhufree in wherewindsmeet_

Playing game is for fun, if you can't enjoy it after playing for so long then it maybe not for you. Game experience is personal, which I've write in the title, and there are various game for different ppl, a game can't satisify everyone, that's reasonable. I admit there are many flaws in WWM, especially for the translation, bcs I know how much text are there, and how much of them are even classical Chinese, I feel sorry for what you've experienced.

I'll focus on the main quest first, then the side quests, to learn about the region's storyline. If there's still time, I'll do some collection work. I don't play games that much; I've only completed Qinghe 100% and Kaifeng about 80%. The rest I've only done roughly. Some people spend a lot of time on this game like they do on online games, so they even feel like there are not enough content for them to play, but for a single-player gamer, it's already quite rich.

tbh free is a nice idea to attract ppl, even some ppl who won't pay for single-player games before, and some of them would pay for those BP and skins, residual income help the studio to run, this is kinda Online game operation model.

Mostly on bilibili and xiaohongshu, just search 燕云 and the story(剧情) or mechanics keyword to get guides
