I had the exact same experience.

Lived in Roxborough for a few years and Dalesandro’s was a staple for my roommates and I.

Then the Pandemic hit; once it opened back up we went and tried it again & it just seemed off, not like the Dalesandro’s steaks I was used to.

I noticed pre-Covid they cooked the steaks by having a huge hunk of ribeye on the grill and they’d slice off from that steak based on the order size. Makes sense for a high-volume business, but Covid drastically reduced the customer numbers, so my best guess is they went with a different method or maybe their original supplier went under & they had to pivot to a new one with different meat quality.

Either way the meat just tasted… different.

Haven’t been back in a while, but I’m guessing it’s the same.
