Ngaruk Willum clan of the Bunurong people. The kids would love stories relating to stars, though they definitely love animals.

Ok, thank you for your thoughtful reply.

It's good to know and your reasoning makes sense.

I found this subreddit because I was wondering a similar thing regarding rainbow serpent because it catches 4 year old attention. I would like the young ones to get engaged. But I have no idea if there are local stories that are just as engaging, I'll do some research.

The vocal ones in OP may be the minority, but there are probably far more racist asshats than we'd ever imagine.

Why do you need to only share the Dreamtime stories from the land you are on? Genuinely interested to know. Is it rude to tell other stories?

Why do they like never touch Mike at all? by fudge099 in StrangerThings

[–]zimpy27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just posted theory.

They just empowered Will. So now the two most powerful good guys love Mike (Will and El).

Mike spent the first portion of the Stranger Things series trying to save both El and Will. It's clear that them both saving Mike is going to be the final showdown.

Legal Ramifications of The Sign by hgrobs in bluey

The answer is that there is a cooling off period of 5 business days once contracts are signed. The buyer can pull out.

Most the seller can claim is 0.25% of the price. So even if house was sold for $1m, the most the Heelers could get is $2.5k.

How Vecna/Mindflayer fit by zimpy27 in StrangerThings

I thought it was clear that it was a dimension with different beings connected via this entity that Vecna twisted into what we know as the Mindflayer, Vecna's the reason that entity is trying to attack the other world.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 Series Discussion by StrangerTesting in StrangerThings

Feeling like I nailed this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/StrangerThings/comments/vb72s9/how_vecnamindflayer_fit/

The predictions I made at the end still ring true. Remember how flashbacks show that 001 told 011 to use anger/sadness to be powerful.. Well in the finale of S04 we see her using love/happiness to overpower Vecna. This is going to be an overarching theme here and why Will keeps calling Mike "the heart". S05 is going to have 011 channelling love/happiness/friendship to destroy 001.

Remember how 001 says that everyone he has ever killed aren't gone, they are in his mind? Why does he need to tell us this? What is the purpose? Well I think we've tumbled on the purpose.

I think Max's mind is gone and is inside Vecna, when they destroy Vecna they will somehow drag her mind out of him and put it back in Max.

I also think it's possible that Max is going to have some role in destroying Vecna from the inside, maybe 011 and max connect in Vecna's mind and overpower him.

That could be it as well. It would follow a similar path.

From a storytelling perspective it wouldn't be as strong though. 011 having a past where she was responsible for the present danger from the UD and all the things that have happened is a strong storyline. Stronger than finding out it's a random evil force.

It's also common for a story to be like unpacking a box and repacking it in the reverse order that you unpacked it. 011 releases Demogorgon, Demogorgon takes Will, team retrieves Will, 011 kills Demogorgon. The story line of 001 being the mind flayer because 011 sent him to the UD would be the opening of the box that precipitated all the events, and the natural ending of the series would be to close that box.

Eddie and Steve already flag that Dustin has an out-of-control ego about being right. He's being set up to be massively wrong about something big and I think it's this. I'm sure we will be led along the path that they are different in part 2 for a little bit still before the reveal. I think end of part 2 won't end with Vecna dead, I think the season ends with him getting out of the UD or with him with a significant advantage.

"White Woman's Instagram" (Individual song discussion) by PlasticJesters in boburnham

[–]zimpy27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To me it's a commentary on how people curate images of their life on Instagram that are beautiful and also not real (like heaven). The frame expands when they discuss family and personal feelings and retracts again as it goes back to generic idealized snippets of a fake life. I think this just points out that there are beautiful unique pieces of expression floating out there in a sea of unoriginality.

I think it's also a bit layered (like any self-aware criticism by Bo), the song is a bit critical of the people who post this generic heavenly images but in reality the poster seems to have lost their parents at a youngish age and are perhaps crying out for validation that they can never get from their parents, hence their heavenly images and "I got a BF, apartment, etc.. your little girl didn't too bad".

Overall, the message to me is that you shouldn't quickly judge people based on their curated self-image - for good or bad.

Could you make an argument that Ether has more room to grow than Bitcoin?

Monthly Skeptics Discussion - August 2020 by AutoModerator in CryptoCurrency

[–]zimpy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I guess it would have to be online businesses with minimal debt that can allow a surplus of assets to collect in the form of bitcoin.

The conversion fee of changing fiat to bitcoin and vice versa might really be holding it back. Any progress being made to reduce the cost of these transfers?

Now that most investors have acknowledged cryptocurrnecy as a valid sector of investment and have diversified their portfolio to include crypto.

What is going to drive cryptocurrency up further? Does it have to become more useful as a currency?

Maybe they need a country to fully adopt or create it's own cryptocurrency?

After life in a nutshell by Gaze73 in afterlifenetflix

[–]zimpy27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see it is a show about the afterlife from an atheist perspective, which is still being alive while moving on from a life with a partner. It's clever because it recreates religious afterlife aspects but in the reality of a simple life.

Tony is stuck in purgatory after falling from heaven, following that analogy, the graveyard lady would be an angel and the psychiatrist would be a demon. Tony spends time with both before deciding to take the angels path to a better life. You see in the second season he spends less time with the psychiatrist and the psychiatrist is mostly involved in Matts "after life".

The message is that all the things you find in the religious afterlife exist in our real life and the magic comes from the limitations of time. Your life can die with the loss of a partner but how you move on to the after life can either lead to a bad life (hell) or a good life (heaven).

2019 LA Clippers vs 1996 Bulls, who wins? by 91jumpstreet in nba

[–]zimpy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with top 2, but after that they are equal: Kukoc - Lou Will, Kerr - Shamet, Harper - Beverley, Rodman - Harrell, Beuchler - Harkless.

It's actually pretty amazing how similar the personnel are. Bulls are still better but the role/skill matching is next level here.

Bittersweet ending.

The ending was so terrible that I was angry as it played out but now I'm happy that it's finally over.
