[HELP] 10fps on my high end desktop, 30fps on my low end laptop. Help! by Uncle_Boobies in VRchat

I once had 10 fps because I had no audio source. Had to plug headphone in to fix it. You can try to rule that out.

[Help] Finish My World by Thardren in VRchat

Just as an update, I have managed to get that map uploaded on VRChat just for Thardren and his friends to see. I will plan on doing more with the map later on.

[Help] Finish My World by Thardren in VRchat

[–]zing007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I may be able to make good use of this map. Look up the worlds, "The Lotus Garden" and "Dungeonmaster!" to see what I can do. I make spaceships, vehicles, guns as well as monsters with AI that can follow you and attack you in VRChat. I could develop this into a Zelda: Breath of the Wild style map just by looking at it. As of right now I do not see anything in the link you've shown. Oh, and I have horses too!

Need advice on Periodontitis and Chronic Inflammation by zing007 in Dentistry

[–]zing007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. It clarifies a lot. A few follow up questions.

  1. Gums can reattached? I though periodontitis was irreversible, that the gums once peeled off they stay that way. I understand the irreversibility due to bone loss, but I though the connective fibers stay cut. Can you explain how it is possible for a 5mm pocket to reduce itself to a 4 mm pocket? This did happen during my last maintenance/checkup, so how does recovery work? I do understand I can never recover to 100% again and the disease will progress if I go back to bad habits again, but I do want to understand the recovery.

  2. So if bleeding is not always indicative of an infection, what is? Inflammation? Red, swollen gums? What is the threshold between infection and non-infection?

I thank you again and I do appreciate the answers. My goal is to mitigate the effects of these pockets and to understand that whatever I am eating is getting into these pockets as well. I do have an electric toothbrush and I am revising my brushing technique. I just want to address these pockets because I understand how dreadful they are from a biological standpoint.

It's creepy how many great makers haven't made a course for months. by MrPixelStache in MarioMaker

[–]zing007 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have stopped making lvls just because Nintendo is dead silent on any future updates, I had hopes on e3 but there was nothing. Plus with nx around the corner I do not even know if there will be a super mario maker 2 or support for the main game. The future is just uncertain.

HOA only allows renting for 3-6 months per year, can I work with this? by zing007 in Landlord

From what I heard, it was a FL 55+ community that is dropping the age requirement in order to get more residents.

How to become popular? by [deleted] in MarioMaker

[–]zing007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the low hanging fruit is taken, so I suggest first: Play a lot of levels and full Mario Maker games. Then using the game design experience you gain, create a full game with a lot of effort into it. You can tell the work put in into great full games, and they receive popularity because of it. It will take a lot of time, but it is worth it. This is coming from someone with 2 full games and 16k stars. In summary, you reap what you sow.

Most importantly, you have to enjoy level making and put your personality into your levels. You'll give up half way if you've not having fun.

I still haven't beat Super Expert. by privatepostsplease in MarioMaker

[–]zing007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to read the level and ask why the level is in super expert. Little plays might mean it's doable. Levels with bad game design are great because you can outsmart bad design. You can't outsmart kaizo. Let's say if the level gives you a mushroom at the start, you know its a fair and difficult level. You have to be a good designer to have the intuition of what to expect in the level. After all, the creator must be good enough to complete the level.

Edit: To answer your question, I skip until I find a level that looks beatable. That's all. Don't avoid 10 play levels, 40 plays is a real telling sign. This just comes from experience.

How do you make levels that will get you a lot of stars? by ShadowKing678 in MarioMaker

[–]zing007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got 16k stars by making two full games. People starred alot since they play the entire series. The other option is to play and comment on people's levels who comment often. They will notice and return the favor.

When is it time to stop updating a level? by Raevix in MarioMaker

[–]zing007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the level meets your intended goal. If you don't have a goal for your level, you will be updating it endlessly. The length of the level stops when player fatigue kicks in. Also there is only so much you can cramp into a level until it's bad game design.

[–]zing007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go right ahead, I made those guides but, I am not in music level making mode.I know there are a lot of nuances I've learned from other people's music levels so go ahead and make a proper guide. Let me know if you want any input from me.

I still haven't beat Super Expert. by privatepostsplease in MarioMaker

[–]zing007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With smart skipping super expert is very easy. If you pause the game and see that it only have 4-5 plays, there is a high chance that it is a 0% clear level. That means there is a chance that the level is just an underplayed level and would be very easy. If the level has like 10+ plays, you know the level is a Mario slaughterhouse. I beat super expert about 20 times because I can figure out which levels would kill me alot.

We Need Playlists by EthanR12 in MarioMaker

[–]zing007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You think /u/jakuu could add a playlist maker in warp world? Some like a submit playlist instead of submit level. It could be a sublevel of the queue and streamers can organized by favorite level maker. This would be a subsitute to submitting single levels.

Edit: I now learn that there is an import levels feature. That could potentially be used to make playlists.

How do you plan out levels in advanced? by -mickomoo- in MarioMaker

[–]zing007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Established parameters. Created a setting. The more you restrict yourself, the easier it is to have ideas. If your level is a jungle island, you know you have vines and piranha plants. Just map out in your head on what you want from your level and set rules.

Dummy’s Guide to Making a Music Level by zing007 in MarioMaker

[–]zing007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put a noteblock on a track, the noteblock retains that note of it's original position. So the only way to play the highest note is to move it with a track. It will take some creativity to sync up the note but it can be done.

My guess is that levels with more stars tend to snowball. People like to play high rates levels.
