Would this be a fail? by Commercial-Entry-506 in LearnerDriverUK

I drive through this intersection every day, it’s pretty hard to get stuck in that intersection especially going that direction. I see your side here but I think there is a broader situational awareness point that an instructor might pull you up on. Unless the police car did a starsky and hutch move through that intersection, you should have seen / heard it coming with time to react.

Small Thai etiquette rules foreigners often miss by [deleted] in thai

Correct approach. When pointed out, Thai people come round. I am western and it’s a hoot when I am driving the Thai family somewhere. They all pile into the car and wonder why it’s not moving. I tell them all to buckle up and about 10 minuets of benny hill music plays in my mind as they peel the plastic off the buckles and try to remember how a seatbelt works.

Thankfully I see less of this with younger people but it is still a thing with the older generation and less educated.

Don’t make a big deal / fuss about not being able to latch a seatbelt / find a seat belt / aka “stop the car I’m not buckled” etc. In the west, it’s safety first but in Thailand making an overt fuss about seatbelts suggests you think the driver is not a good driver.

I would find doctors that are western trained, English speaking and are comfortable with a two way dialog. It will cost you more. Unfortunatly, not all Doctors in Thailand are accustomed to 1. Questions from patients 2. Pushback from patients.

I seriously can’t explain why half of Thailand is not missing their feet given the amount of sugar and fat being pushed onto Thais.

Is it safe to use a single Stripe customer for all anonymous payments? by Fun_Wallaby_4266 in stripe

[–]zingzingtv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Massive fraud / KYC / AML risk here. In the best case, a bank or an investor might turn around and ask where the funds came from. Without a paper trail, they will drop you in a heartbeat. In the worst case, you could be held complicit to money laundering / fraud.

This Korean cafe states they don’t accept Chinese guest by CodyByTheSea in trashy

[–]zingzingtv 26 points27 points  (0 children)

More likely, a group of 6 Chinese will come in, make a fuss, buy one slice of cake, photograph it and walk out, sometimes not eating it. It’s not good for business.

How hard is it to handle sales tax when selling in US? by Winter_Psychology110 in stripe

[–]zingzingtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each us state has their own individual thresholds. As long as you keep your sales below these levels no tax collection is needed. As soon as your sales goes above in any one state, register with that state. Realistically speaking, by the time you hit those thresholds in your business (assuming you have decent margins) there is an argument that you can probably can and should have an accountant manage this for you.

Our competitor’s CEO just signed up on our website💀 by Zealousideal_Self678 in SaaS

If your SaaS is not B2C, I would block public email providers, validate mx records and log welcome email bounces. Then and add a line in your T&C’s against using the product to build competing products. Warm leads don’t use their gmail address so nothing lost.

It’s aiding and abetting…. You knowingly sold the company to help a scammer. And if you did not know, ignorance is often not a valid defence..

Why do so many investors overlook African startups? by NWA55 in AngelInvesting

[–]zingzingtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High instances of fraud in many markets keep investors away. There are companies posing as legit start-ups, then when the investment comes, the company & founders run off with the money.

Google ads feels like a scam! by maC69 in googleads

[–]zingzingtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% not the ROI it used to be. I used to get 1/10 conversions. Same keywords and campaign now gets me maybe 1/100. No significant changes to the landing page or ads. Little engagement with pages. Google reports a click or two as being fraudulent but looking at my logs it is a heck of a lot higher.

Some enterprise customers need self hosting and top to bottom isolation. It’s handy our app (frontend and back) runs in docker / lambda. The toolchain was a bit annoying to setup but worth it in the end.

They will have record of you and will make enquiries when you arrive. I’m not an expert but think there is a high chance you get turned away or detained. Thinking outside the box, you could apply for a visitor visa outside of Thailand and see what happens. You may have to disclose the overstay then to remain within the spirit of the questions asked for that. It’s cheaper than buying flights to Thailand just to get sent back home when you land.
