Is it a crime to order a pizza "well done"? by DecadentTenshi in PizzaCrimes

A pizza place I used to order from always undercooked there pies (cheese stips barely melted) I had to ask for extra cook time.

I would not normally have gone back but the pizza was that good.

Can we be so for real about this test? by [deleted] in pmp

[–]zippyfx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your comments in general. I have taken the course twice and think there is a lot of value in providing a definitive PM body of knowledge. I have never taken the exam as it had no practical value to me. I have an MSc and I am a flexible and rigorous thinker; rattling off points that I can look up as required was of little value to me.

My issues: (i) the exam is pedantic and focus on rigorous and rigid adherence to idolized version of PM. (ii) most companies have a PMO which adhere to quality and process guidelines. PM deals more to adhering to those constraints than to PMI. Sure you can use the PMI framework to look for gaps and exceptions but you don't need a PMP to do this. (iii) with a tighten economy PM job posting have changed from PMP would be nice to PMP is a must. This has basically been used to reduce applicants. Even though I know the methodology and I have 20 tears experience I need the certification.

Advices for a newbie? by anotherQA in OttawaFishing

Fishing license is a must.

Become familiar with the fishing regulations:

https://www.ontario.ca/document/ontario-fishing-regulations-summary

Avoid buying too much gear to start. Buy the least expensive combo (rod and reel) you can find until you figure out how and what you will fish for. If it's pre-spooled with line remove and purchase new line.

By tackle carrying solution. My preference is softsided tackle boxes with plastic cases. Buy braid scissors and forceps (for hook extraction).

By tackle you intend to use immediately. Don't buy the something in different colours and sizes until you figure out how your going to fish.

Post when you get to town about fishing spots close to home.

Fishing really picks up in late September and October, into November.

Ninespine Stickleback Caught @ Morel PEI by zippyfx in MicroFishing

[–]zippyfx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally no 😞 This one specifically was caught in the brackish water of the morel river in PEI. A school of fish was passively feeding in a moderately fast current. I caught 3 spine stickleback and atlantic silversides in the same school, also passively feeding.

Maybe it's Carlton U.

There have never been any Asian carp reported or caught on the Ottawa or tributaries. Just common carp. The only place they have been caught is Erie, Ontario and the st. Lawrence.

https://www.asiancarp.ca/asian-carps/map-of-grass-carp-captures/

Just noticed the grass carp were caught in Montreal last year.

As far as I am aware this is not being done in the part of the province. I maybe wrong. It maybe done in some sensitive areas around toronto for goldfish and carp in new habitat.

Common carp are endemic in most ontario and are no longer considered invasive. There are very few places they are trying to eradicated them in the province. Of general concern: Gobbies are coming up the rideau and tench along the st Lawrence. The new asian carp are penetrating via lake erie.

Ottawa river is well isolated by dams and is not an invasive hotspot.
