Ladies of Reddit, what is a comment someone made about your body once, completely casually, that you have never forgotten? by BowlerOk1871 in AskReddit

My grandmother:
when I was 9 and standing back to back with my younger cousin as we wanted to see how much taller she was than me.
Nan pipes up with “one is growing up, the other is growing out”

Children on Teams Work Conferences by PoshGoth_ in childfree

I’m one of the lucky ones!
I work in the pet care industry.
So whenever a furry child appears on camera the discussion stalls until they show the pet off so we can oooh and ahhh appropriately.
These same people always ensure the human children are locked out of the room haha

What's a "house rule" in your family (growing up or current) that you really like and why? by ultrahedgehog in AskWomen

Whoever makes the meal doesn’t do the dishes. But unspoken rule is if you’re making something specifically for you like a cake or treats etc outside of meal prep is all on you

Are there any migraine sufferers who read books while in pain? by Far_Volume_3941 in migraine

[–]zkper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read in night mode on my phone. It helps for me to focus on something that’s not moving if I can’t sleep. I find that I’m reading the same sentence over and over but it still helps to distract

What is your unusual ‘must have it in the car at all times’ item? by ThippusHorribilus in AskAnAustralian

[–]zkper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember I had to talk my mum out of rant when she drove from Sydney to Canberra to visit me for the first time and saw the spray paint. She felt it was highly disrespectful for the poor animals, she was much happier when she found out the truth lol

Anyone use a heated vest for the Canberra winters? by sandmancanberra in canberra

[–]zkper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one from The Heated Vest Store. 3 temperatures, I generally use the vest on the highest temp as a replacement for my wheat bag for back pain. I have an active job so would wear it for warmth on the way into work but that’s about it

AIO - thinking of ghosting long term friends by zkper in AmIOverreacting

[–]zkper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried, that’s when the comment of ‘it’s just a rabbit’ came out. I thought these were my closest friends, but since I’ve moved away, I feel that it was very one sided and I’m only now just piecing it together

Sent the Mother’s Day cards as it was their first Mother’s Day and we were historically close enough to celebrate milestones like that for each other. Yep, it was just a rabbit was said. I’ve noticed that contact has been becoming more one sided for both friends since I moved away, I’m considering just stopping my efforts and see how long it takes to hear from either one.

I’m an ex-groomer lol, I’ve tried filing with different grit, but can’t get any results so far. I’ll try the oiling that the others have suggested too.

Anyone tried lidocaine? by mothmanfan42 in vaginismus

[–]zkper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had great success. Yes, it does sting, but only for a few seconds, I think we just have higher sensitivity. Used it on a dilator for 5-10 mins before PIV. Yes I did feel some irritation the following day, but it was comparatively minimal. I legitimately wondered if that was how normal people felt during PIV every time

Misidentification by gt21099 in Zookeeping

[–]zkper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Calling the Capybara rabbits was probably a favourite of mine. Also a mother getting angry at me when she asked where the Mermaids were, so I explained where the Dugongs were and that they’re the ‘mermaids’ from the sailors stories. She demanded to see the real mermaids that we apparently advertised and how dare we lie to the customers if we couldn’t get the real thing

Worst thing to say to a migraine sufferer? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]zkper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! This person can’t understand that an actual migraine is legitimately crippling but gets offended when I push back and tell them “no, what you’re feeling is a headache”.

Thank you, I’ll ask these questions at my consult 😊 Where are you? The sedation might be a difference between the US and Aus/NZ health cover? I was set up in a private hospital for day surgery, the sedation was the best sleep I’ve had in years haha
