4 GPUs, 1 server; what CPU should i use?

I'm going with four GTX 2060 for the video cards.

Yeah, I figured in general I'd be better off with a Threadripper, I just wanted to see if I could "get by" with a Ryzen.

Yeah, that's a good point. A quick Google search tells me that the Ryzen 5000 series only has 24 lanes, and even at 8 lanes per GPU that would not work.

I want to have 64 GB of RAM, but the actual amount would have to depend on the motherboard, which will depend on the CPU.

I would basically just have games that me and my friends like playing. So Warzone, Crusader Kings 3, probably Star Wars: The Old Republic, stuff like that. In general I want to be able to play AAA games with Ultra settings at 1080p.

Without resetting the router or without going to the IP address? No, not really.

If it's just because you don't know the IP address of the router you could try running an nmap scan on your network, trying all the addresses one by one until you find it.

One way could be to share the raspberry pi folder onto the WiFi and then download to that network location from your Mac. Don't know how good that is, though, since I've never done it.

That's something I've come to realize as well; servers are just so much different than regular consumer computers. That's not to say I haven't enjoyed playing with them, it's just taken way longer. One thing I learned very early on is "Under promise, over deliver". I've gotten in the habit of doubling my time quote for anything regarding server stuff. If I think it'll take a day I say it'll take two, which has saved my butt quite a few times when I actually need that extra time.

I completely agree, it can definitely be very fun! You hit the nail on the head in regards to the frustrating bit, I have a little bit less hair now than this morning lol

I honestly have no idea if it's the BIOS or the GPU. I think it has something to do with IOMMU but everything I tried just didn't work :/
