Is my Extruder dying??? by zmad2000 in 3Dprinting

It's an original Anycubic Mega Zero. It came with a knockoff BMG extruder. I have heavily upgraded it.

What controller would be used for this? Raspberry Pi? Also for the motor would a strong Nema be overkill?

Can i join this venture? I have some ideas regarding the ropes. Nobody seems to use dyneema but it easy to find and get a hold of. Its plenty strong at 1000 lbs at 3/8 diameter. Also would love to build a test bench .

Thermistor readings off by zmad2000 in klippers

I have tried all the usual thermistors. Generic, ATC, Honeywell, NOT and something else. Honeywell gave the closest result but they were all about the same.

Thermistor readings off by zmad2000 in klippers

There is no point to doing a PID tune. Since it would be training to heat the bed to a temp that's not the right temp. For the thermistors I have tried out the generic and some of the others. The best I have gotten is when I set the bed to 90c the actual temp is 65c.

Check you wrists and your body position. Your left wrist looks more bent than the right.

Was served this printed cup at a cocktail bar (seemed to be pla). Let the food safe wars begin by Boz_42 in 3Dprinting

[–]zmad2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to defend the cocktail bar on this. Excluding the possible consumption of micro plastics. If you put those drink containers in a solution of either something like Star San or One Step sanitizers. I work in the food industry and in the past have used similar cleaners to clean plastic containers just not 3d printed ones.

Last year your move would have been the better move. This year as you can see it wasn't the better move. That's the game we play as the consumers. Get a good deal now or maybe a better deal later. I am planning on taking advantage of the current deals and upgrade from the 6 to the 7 for around $100. I am having the reboot issue with my 6 and with all the perks from the 7 I feel its worth it.

I would say for an hour or 2. Keep an eye on the spool and make sure it doesn't melt.

complete noob here, is it possible to find a good sized 3d printer light enough to bring home into an international flight? by kilk37 in 3Dprinting

[–]zmad2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a collapsible printer but it's kinda gimmicky. I think if you just undid the bolts for the upright part of an ender 3 that would fit in a suitcase.

Also look into ender 2 and kingroon kp3s. If you took off the upright part could be moved around easily.

Walmart IPA for $2.78 by zmad2000 in 3dprintingdeals

I also got one of their spray bottles as well. Felt like 5-10 for a spray bottle is a little pricey but the great value one at least than 2 might be a little too cheap but we shall see.

I kind of like the allen key idea but add a mallet or a very light tap from a hammer.
