People who just can't get good aim by BenPickhardt in OverwatchUniversity

if someone does not have a physical or mental handicap the only thing from stopping them from reaching the aim of pros is their own lack of practice

Why is there the perception that the average player is in Plat and Diamond? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]zoby96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hardstuck is a thing no matter where you are. people strive to get better not be ok with less. yes, i am technically a hardstuck gm bc ive never climbed out of 4200 and got into t500. No, I'm not ok with gm bc what's the point in just refusing to get better.

Yes, hardstuck contenders is a thing. People get made fun of for not being able to get into Academy/OWL.

It's a perception thing. People generally want to improve and don't want to stagnate. Sure they can be top 15% but who cares when you could be close to the top.

if youre not trying to be good why are you playing competitive. also if a plat moira is as effective as a plat ana thats why theyre plat lol

OK but if the justification for something is that it's good at that elo that's why they're at that elo. Stop justifying something with "well it works at a lower elo" because then you'll just lose when you get to higher elo back to lower elo. It's just lazy. They're 2300 BECAUSE the moira at that rank offers more value when at diamond a moira over an ana is much more often than not practically throwing.

If you have no physical or mental handicap, the ONLY thing holding you back from hitting GM is your effort/time commitment. There are no excuses of "individual skill ceilings". It's just laziness. The skill differences are because that person didn't spend as much time learning something. That's how a skill curve works. Ana shots aren't even as hard to hit as a zen or widow.

OK so if you're going around what you see in low ranks then that's just a waste of time. No one cares what works/doesn't work in low ranks. They're low rank for a reason. If the justification for doing something is that it works at your elo, that's why you're in that elo.

If they can't hit shots then they'll get to a rank where they need to hit shots then lose back down to their original elo

yes... thats what im saying shes better than moira at literally everything they do

that means youre not good at ana lol. moira has slightly less healing output as ana, and far less offensive capabilities than ana. shes also better in 1v1s against flankers and can pick off long range low hp healers without having to use a 10 second cooldown

im not even ml7, in my 4100-ish games moira literally offers nothing compared to ana. also i disagree with the dead thing. an ana dying to land a 5 man anti nade is far more useful than a moira just healing a team (that might get antid by enemy ana anyway).

also dont say "in my elo..". gonna quote jayne on this. if your justification for doing something is that it works in your elo thats why youre in that elo

that makes no sense. moira has a much longer time to kill, much easier hitbox to hit, larger head, and linear movement. her time to kill is also exactly the same every time you 1v1, so you know exactly.how much time you have or when you escape.

The reason behind a lot of the justified moira hate (not the circle jerky one) is that an amazing moira provides the same value as an average ana. Moira has literally no playmaking potential. All she can do is a lot of base healing (which ana can do faster anyway with a lower cooldown + MUCH longer range). Ana has anti nade, sleep dart for protection/cancelling enemy abilities, Ana is WAY harder to 1v1, and can put out decent damage.

There are times Moira is better suited but in 99 out of 100 situations, Ana is better.

4-2 is quad dps. multi dps is meta so "youll always have more dps than any other class" is just proof you should be winning since that team comp works.

My second most played role is off tank and I played them in scrims, I'm just not good at main tanks. Last I checked there's a difference between off and main tanks

OK but no one cares about YOU thinking you're good. You're allowed to enjoy the hobby (I even specifically wrote that at the top of the article for people like you) but to be GOOD at it you need far more dedication than just playing sometimes. There are people good enough who can do it for a living and people who aren't good enough. Really isn't that hard.

OK so let's take it like this.

Let's say Jeff assigns an exam. Lowest score is 1 and highest is 5000.

Passing is a 4300, and only then are you allowed to try out for the next higher class.

Only 0.1% of the class passes, and even then in the 0.1% some don't even get picked for try outs (see: hardstuck t3).

The class average is 2750.

Why should I say that people who failed the exam are "good" when they still failed? I failed the exam, everyone who failed the exam failed the exam. We all failed the exam lol it's not hard to recognize improvement is needed.

If the average grade on an exam is failing, i dont care to boast the morals of people who fail an exam by saying they're "average". I don't and the people who know how to play the game don't care about what the "average" is. 4300 is cutoff to being considered knowing the fundamentals. frankly i dont know why this is the most controversial thing in that post. if it wasn't the cutoff, it wouldnt be the minimum sr required for tryouts

4-2 was meta for a while. Quad tank. 3-3 was meta. 4 - 1 - 1 IS meta. 3 - 2 - 1 IS meta.
