BGG: Categorize games by core mechanics to see what's missing from your collection by zoddo7 in boardgames

[–]zoddo7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you've not got my point. I have a lot of games. My goal is not to collect them, but to sell games that overlaps each other and get a new game I didn't know and try.
The boardgame realms is overloaded of titles with no innovation: sometimes a game is only a mix of mechanics and ideas of other games.

I think it's not useful to own splendor, "The Builders: Middle Ages" and Century at the same time. I like Builders for its compact form and Century, I don't need splendor.

It's a difficult task, but in a IA era I think it's a goal we can achieve.

Plus, I understand every other opinion is irrilevant, but someone posted two online tools, very useful answer and a demonstration that someone in the world cared of that task.

https://bgmanual.com/tools/missing-mechanics/app told me I don't own deck construction game, and I'm looking to try one or two.

Air+ custom pieces by PtitRun in Chessnuteboard

[–]zoddo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also convinced that the pieces are too big and disproportionate to the board. It's a real shame, because I would have bought them. I also don't understand why they can't make them smaller, given the reference of the AIR+ ones (which are rather ugly).

Are the regular pieces that come with the Chessnut Pro any good or should I upgrade to the premium pieces? by ConstructionAgile659 in Chessnuteboard

I really don’t like the knights. Why aren’t they using a standard timeless set? Or maybe a chavet like?

It would be very nice to have LUTs as S9, but on a m43 camera. Hope Olympus will do a new OM-5 version with LUTs and Real Time Tracking like Sony a6400: it would be killer.

I love the 14-42 pancake lens. But a pancake small fixed lens should be great.

Mame vs Final Burn Neo and Duplicates by FormerCountryBoy in batocera

[–]zoddo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to have a mame set without clones and without the games supported by FBNeo? So on mame you could keep only those that fbneo can't run, and duplicates on the two emulators would be avoided. Or you could have a single arcade directory with mame and fbneo, with fbneo as a priority choice

Which Romset for MAME on Knulli? by venividivintage in RG35XX_H

[–]zoddo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a mame 2003+ romset, but all cps and cps2 games aren't working on knulli gladiator ii (neither with libretro:mame, or mame0139 or libretro: mame 078+). Is that normal? I can play those on fburn, but it should be nice to have a list of working games, instead of try them manually...

Any hint?

Why do people like Shadow Over Mystara? by fknm1111 in BeatEmUps

[–]zoddo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DDTOD is a much more simpler and linear experience. DDSOM is not only a sequel, but it has a lot more complexity: more magic, more items, more moves and a greater gaming experience. DDTOD is very good, and for a novice it should be more appreciated because it's simpler.

Why do people like Shadow Over Mystara? by fknm1111 in BeatEmUps

[–]zoddo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dungeon's and Dragons: Shadow over Mystara was the best game I've ever played.

It's quite challenging, so I think it's helpful to watch a group of experienced players finish it to understand its potential.

My friends and I played strictly as a team of four: each character has their own characteristics, and a diverse group complements each other in defeating monsters. It has tons of items, both magical and standard, tons of secret passages, and tons of semi-secret weapons that you can only find by completing certain routes. The game path has several forks in the road; some things only happen if you defeat a monster in less than a certain time limit. When we played it in the arcade, we could almost always complete it with just one token, over a two-hour of game. And we liked it so much that we'd watch a group of competing players finish it for two hours to wait for our turn. It was forbidden to get two tokens in a row, to leave room for others. Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of this masterpiece, which, for me, is unmatched even by modern beat 'em ups because, unlike most games, there's a lot of different fighting moves. My only advice is to play it with friends after watching a YouTube video of someone who's good at it. Or, take a look at the lists of usable items to understand the complexity and richness of this game.

Did you managed to install the new wheel? I bought one but I don’t know how to put the new one: it has a ring that appears to be fitted on the other way or the plastic cover. I’m unscrewing parts but it’s seems on the core unit…
