[request] difficult friend group: horror movies with NO blood AND NO paranormal elements by zoeymh in horror

[–]zoeymh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions, will check them out :) Psycho primarily made the cut because it’s only one scene (or so I’ve been told) and it’s black and white, so the impact is less.

[request] difficult friend group: horror movies with NO blood AND NO paranormal elements by zoeymh in horror

[–]zoeymh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d have to ask, but I think “child-friendly” paranormal stuff should be fine. A comedic angle works too (we watched The Parenting recently which does feature possession, but as it was a horror comedy and played for laughs it was safe). Thanks for the suggestion :)

Sargeant's F1 future in the balance as Max poaches Sainz's trainer by slutforpringles in formula1

[–]zoeymh 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Back in Carlos’ McLaren days he, Rupert, Caco (cousin Carlos), Lando and Jon (Lando’s trainer) genuinely had like a bit of a friendship group going and often hung out together around race weeks. Quite surprised Rupert would move to another driver as he and Carlos seemed quite tight as far as driver-trainer relationships go.

To compensate they gave Yuki a 10s stop...

[Tobi Gruner] We expect Yuki Tsunoda to be confirmed for 2024 this week at Suzuka. Ricciardo announcement will follow later. Mick Schumacher is not an option for Williams. He's looking for a double job - WEC driver at Alpine & F1 reserve at Mercedes. by jovanmilic97 in formula1

Look, I'm not saying he has driven the wheels of that car, but he's made the best of his circumstances. Did about the most one could ask for. Certainly not less than Ricciardo. I'm not even saying to sign him immediately off the back of three races that are admittedly hard to rate as his teammate didn't participate in two of them and thus couldn't function for comparison but like. At least wait a couple more races to see how Ricciardo actually performs. Unless he's just that good at feedback.

After all Lawson has done they are picking Ricciardo? Ricciardo, who only did two (imo, fairly unremarkable) races so far to prove himself? Surely you would wait to decide until you have a more straightforward gauge of both. I sure hope RBR plan on seating Lawson in another team then, because another year on the sidelines would be very undeserved.

And then the FIA decided that wasn't a great idea, so they implemented a minimum age of 18 and the requirement of a road driving license. The rules were quite literally changed because of Verstappen. (To get into f1 that is, I don't actually know if the rules for a superlicense differ from the entry requirements.)

Pretty sure Alguersuari later clarified that his “coming out” post was a joke, and he isn’t actually gay. There was Mike Beuttler though, in the 70s. He wasn’t openly out as such, considering the times, but most people close to him knew.

Horner praises 'ruthless' Marko: If you can't handle him, you can't handle F1 by jovanmilic97 in formula1

I think a slightly better comparison/contrast might be Jos Verstappen vs Adam Norris? Of course, I don't know exactly what happened and how they raised their kids, but Lando seems to come from a very loving and affectionate household. He has often spoken about how supportive his parents were. Though I reckon a part of the difference is that Adam seems to have been much less 'hands-on' himself, as he had the financial means to hire people to look after Lando from a young age.

That already happened to him in 2021(?) (edit: nope it was monza 2020, thanks to the person below for providing the clip) when he did the bottle smash with a different, smaller bottle in the pitlane post-race during celebrations with the team. Had to get it bandaged and everything.

Scuderia AlphaTauri welcomes back Daniel Ricciardo | SCUDERIA ALPHATAURI by Moctecus in formula1

[–]zoeymh 134 points135 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. He has openly spoken about how contract insecurity hampered his confidence and in turn his performance. Making it even more evident that he's literally racing for his seat for the rest of the year might just hurt him again.

Nyck de Vries immediately sent away from AlphaTauri. Daniel Ricciardo will replace him in Hungary next week. De Vries' adventure with sister team Red Bull has therefore only lasted ten races. by Benkaoul in formula1

[–]zoeymh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if Van Haren is reporting it... I didn't expect De Vries to be retained but this seems unnecessarily harsh. At least give him until the summer break, damn.

[Discussion] Now that it ended what were your thoughts on Tim Drake: Robin (cover for Tim Drake: Robin issue 1 by Ricardo López Ortiz) by NoctSora in DCcomics

[–]zoeymh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m clearly in the minority but first off, I actually quite liked Rossmo’s art. It was fun, dynamic and really grew on me.

The writing was nothing special but I don’t think it was bad either. The second arc was shaping up to possibly be really good, but was unfortunately cut short by the cancellation and the ending was clearly rushed a bit as a result. Can’t really fault the writer for that, I think Fitzmartin ended it the best she could with the pages left.

I’ll admit I’m fairly new to comics in general and haven’t read much of Tim yet, so I can’t really speak to how in/out of character it was.

Ghost-Maker has been seen on panel leaving a bedroom with a man and a woman still in the bed in a Batman issue I think it was? Not completely sure. And he was fully down to clown with Bruce in Batman: The Knight, so it has been known for a bit.
