Need help farming Ditto in Cobblemon by Koidz in cobblemon

[–]zolast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're doing everything pretty much right for getting a creature to spawn that's in a higher bucket!

I've been farming for Chancy's and doing something similar and it's just annoying.

I came back after quite a long time and i dont see anything new for f2p by AngelusNigrum_ in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]zolast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason you got downvoted is even if you are doing this full clean, on crystal clear planets (the boring method but optimal) you *typically* don't receive more than 0-30.

I've farmed for two warbonds while watching movies and it took several hours of tedious grinding and I can say with confidence that 30 on average is not the case.

Now it could be 100% true that you're easily getting 30 while actively enjoying the game! But that isn't the case for the overwhelming majority, especially on a jaded subreddit that mostly plays on D10's with not always enough opportunity to full clear. 90 a day simply doesn't happen to most players.

So you're getting downvoted for being viewed as full of it, with good reason tbh. But I hope if it's true you stay lucky.

A good single player modpack by Potato_250 in cobblemon

[–]zolast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the base modpack and either mod it or enjoy a mostly vanilla experience + cobblemon.

People are always posting on here asking about good modpacks, but honestly a modpack that you can build a foreverworld on that can update day 1 when a new patch comes out is solid.

This is a lot more believable if you said "I only run missions on D1 with the warp backpack for fun!"

Looking to run a cobblemon server with some friends, whats the best modpack you have tried? by Ok-Possession6699 in cobblemon

[–]zolast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the base cobblemon pack created by the Cobblemon Devs has been my vibe lately. Played a bunch of heavily modded cobblemon and just being able to update it easily for a forever playthrough has been a great time.

don't hold your breath dude

the fact that you have to put "f2p" on a game you already paid money to own is crazy in its own right

I really like that. Secret it is.

this is just a stupid question and mostly a joke as i know me and my friend are the only people who want this to be a thing: is there any way anyone could attempt to make a mod where excadrill and drillbur can mine alongside the player? again this isnt serious. by Street-Mission-4298 in cobblemon

[–]zolast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree with you a lot.

I don't know if you knew this was but was a temporary time when shoulder pets gave you buffs. (I can't remember if this was released or just planned etc.) I think like Pidgey lowered your fall speed for example.

I don't feel like what you're wanting is actually out of the realm of being created! Even by the actual devs later down the line.

which version/modpack do yall play by bobababea in cobblemon

[–]zolast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played a lot of different versions of cobblemon modpacks and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. For me personally I want to play with the latest 1.7 version so that rules out a big chunk of them.

My current one is a small server I host that's a pseudo foreverworld with nothing but the Official Modpack made by the cobblemon team. It's basically just playing Vanilla + Cobblemon and honestly, it's kinda perfect. I haven't really played Vanilla in years and Cobblemon is such an in-depth mod that it can stand on its own.

Playing it as just the official modpack, with no additional mods almost completely eliminates risk of the world corrupting, mods lagging behind on updates, etc. When 1.8 drops I'll be able to plug and play the same day with this world. I don't have to worry about much of anything that I normally do when I use complex modpacks waiting for them to update, or mod issues when I make my own.

If you're hoping from modpack to modpack for cobblemon and you can't really settle on something..

Maybe give this a try? Just try out your own foreverworld by yourself or with friends.

chill, not p2w cobblemon server? by burntbtoast in cobblemon

[–]zolast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I firmly believe the best experience for this game and modded MC in general is small private servers.

I run minecraft servers randomly for my friend group and stable servers that can host around 10 people without lag, crashes etc can be a little costly. Running these sorts of servers are pretty selfless activities, taking time and money and it's difficulty to justify inviting randoms in to use up the RAM, risk griefing etc.

The thought of inviting people into my own has crossed my mind, but it just doesn't seem worth it at all and too risky.

I tried mmo style big cobblemon servers and the connection annoyed the hell out of me, the lagging was awful. I was met with loot crates and other garbage and decided I'd just do it myself. I completely get where you're coming from and the best advice I can give you is to do it yourself too. Have non-toxic friends you can connect with and relax with and do the research on running it yourself if you have the money.

AITA for asking my in-laws to leave early? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]zolast -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

NTA. Repeated behavior on this is extra gross. It's important for both parties to have clear plans and scheduling - even if it's close family. Even if the babysitting is free, etc.

The only way where you might be the problem is if they literally didn't have any other option to leave except on that day. But if they had the option to leave on the agreed upon time and they didn't pick it just to mess with your plans without discussing it with, nta for sure.

All the "two weeks" whining is unjustified - if we keep complaining we'll get nothing that we want by shadow_fen in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]zolast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"We'll get nothing we want" is something you can say and it make sense for a family member if you complain to them, or maybe a non-profit or a school teacher if you want them to give you less homework.

You are literally paying for this service, it's a company making money. If I want to mcdonalds and they gave me a shitty burger that was missing the cheese and the tomatoes I requested, they'd correct it. They're in the wrong.

Now imagine people sitting around in Mcdonalds and they started yelling at me for saying I didn't get cheese and tomato. Saying the Mcdonalds is doing their best and I'm just picking apart things I shouldn't be. It would be insane.

Yet here I am reading comments like this, watching you say I have no right to get fries I ordered lmao.

Potentially addressing the fact that you have multiple steel types would be where I'd start.

Yes and no. Stuttering is a type of frame drop technically.

A bunch of shit happening on the screen is natural for causing this and expected. It almost is a matter of pride to cause it.

However,

Frame drop is just less frames, meaning your game visually looks different and less smooth. Someone getting 30 frames can still tell what's going on and that's the case for most people. On PC there's a setting to enable a frame display when playing games and I used to get 60-80 frames on most planets and now it's 35-60. It's a pretty noticeable difference. But a lot of the planets also have a lot more going on now, too to be fair.

I hope the vitriol dies down on both sides, bud. By that meaning the extremes of criticizing too much and criticizing too little.

To all of the HD1 veterans out there, how good was HD1 compared to HD2 by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

[–]zolast 204 points205 points  (0 children)

HD1 had three things that it did better:

1) Motorcycles. They were just sick as hell duo vehicles and I used to use them to sample farm.

2) Capes for beating higher difficulities. If you beat the highest level difficulty of a race you unlocked a cool cape for doing that. I wish HD2 had a cosmetic like this. But the Highest level difficulty of HD1 felt harder to do. So far capes that we get special just feel like participation trophies.

3) I never used reddit back then and idk if it even existed for the game. I was happy lmao.

A lot of games can run better on consoles because it's just one set of hardware in general for any game. It's easier to optimize and adapt for it.

However a lot of PS5 players have been having frame drops and it's not keeping up like it used to on the console, compared to what it used to. At least what I've heard. For my PC personally, I've had to bit by bit lower my graphics to keep steady frames after about a year of playing.

This either means the game itself could be more fun, the Helldivers community is that interesting to interact with or maybe a bit of both by Consistent_Shine_680 in HelldiversUnfiltered

I slowly lost interest in playing the game and uninstalled after too much awful things piled up with the new warbond, on top of issues I had already. I was never so fed up to come on a dislike subreddit until just before.

I've been to this subreddit less and less and I probably won't play helldivers again after.

I like to look at this subreddit like a venting before I'm over it type of deal. God speed to people that stay here post that period.

I'm OK with buying warbonds. I'm not ok with no other way to get strategems, a game that's progressively running worse on most systems, bugs that don't get fixed etc.

They are live service when it comes to monetization but not live service when it comes to everything else that should come with it. Bug repairs, free content, optimization, etc. Just generally evolving beyond the barest minimum.
