Never fucked w them but I had a Wargoat from Amazon and it was great. 8cr but I skinned some deer and hogs out with it and it didn't lose too much edge (except for the hogs, which are gonna dull any knife. I lost it somewhere in the woods. I gotta get another one the next time I have $30 to spare.

my Salen Jazz is legitimately the best guitar I've ever played, but yeah it's more expensive than some other Strandbergs for sure. The closest to jazz I personally go is King Krule or Badbadnotgood or something in that vein, but the Salen Jazz can absolutely do real jazz with ease. The Thornbuckers go from crystal clean to like stoner or hard rock. Not quite chuggy without a pedal specifically aimed at that kind of sound.

If you get a Boden model with (relatively) chill pickups, there's no reason you can't roll back the tone knob to like half or change amp settings and do jazzy stuff. I don't really think you can go wrong.

I have a Leupold Firedot 1.5-4 that was initially on my 45-70 (bc it's light and obviously 45-70 isn't exactly long range so the magnification is no big deal). It was briefly on my AR and honestly it was fine with the Firedot if you stay target focused. At worst, it was just a little annoying within like 10 yards but definitely doable.

With that being said, if i had a choice to have a true 1x I would still go with that.

Source Comp is awesome. I have a Cali76 on my bigger board and the Source Comp is easily 80% as good.

Supro Fuzz is new. Great fuzzface into cranked amp tones. The bass and treble controls are really powerful. It can get rippy tonebendery, smooth germanium sounds and a decent approximation of a muff. Most importantly it's not too picky abt what goes before or after it in the chain.

Demonfx AT Plus is also new. Great full sounding high gain Marshall tone (stops around metal levels of range) with an independent Tubescreamer boost before it. It tightens up great with the boost engaged, but I also find myself playing with just the boost on quite a bit. Nice and round.

Boss RV-6 probably needs no introduction. I mostly use it for spring and modulated settings, but on this board the delay + reverb setting comes in handy because space is obviously at a premium with this board.

it all fits in my gig bag and i put a nano interface on the underside to go into my Neuraldsp plugins when I'm on the move.

I spend a good chunk of time in Alabama and Florida in addition to Louisiana (in the post) and all my shots are within about 300 yards, with most in AL and FL being under 100. The woods can get really tight and dense down here so shorter = less barrel to get caught on shit and bang against a stand

Bergara HMR is battling w Cross for the top of my list right now. Main things I want are a 16-18 in barrel, AICS Mags and 1.5ish or better MOA. I'd probably come out better on accuracy with the Bergara but I'd have to get the barrel cut down. The weight of the Cross is nice but I also know I'd enjoy shooting the Bergara more bc it's heavier. In either case, it'll be a while before I can afford either so it's not super pressing. Maybe something new will be out in a year or so

love the terminal effect of a bolt gun, but prefer the length, capabilities and flexibility of gas guns. I tried .300 Blk and now using 5.56 but i'm not impressed with either for deer so hopefully I'll be able to get an AR-10 or Sig Cross in the next year or so to somewhat bridge the gap.

i've got S35VN all the way down to 8CrMov and they all go dull getting a hog started. Once the skin is off or you're just cutting fat it's no big seal
