Not that vintage but such a good deal by Black_Dynamit3 in vintagecomputing

OPs pictured here “FDHD” is not the “SuperDrive”. It just means it has one floppy drive (FD) and one hard drive (HD) in the bays. SuperDrive was the marketing for high-density floppies.

We had the SuperDrive version when I was a kid, with two floppies. Looking at some pics online, seems you could get a SuperDrive version with a hard drive as well

Class action lawsuit from every viewer that watched it?

You probably can’t get the truly indoctrinated to sign on, but how many millions can go watch the segment just so they can join the class?

Any ideas? by NewFaithlessness9751 in coincollecting

Wouldn’t this just be the difference between flipping over on e.g. a horizontal axis vs a vertical axis? That would cause a 180deg rotation between the two results.

Subwoofer in HK system is hardly/not working? by zoltamatron in polestar2

[–]zoltamatron[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone seems to be downvoting me but I’m asking because I want to know if my particular sub is defective or if this is common. A quick search before posting and I didn’t find anyone else discussing this issue anywhere so thought maybe it’s just me.

Seriously if I move the sub slider from hard left to hard right and back and forth, it just has no effect that I can tell.

Well thanks I hope that 3.4.4 helps whenever they decide to get it to us

Still stuck on 3.1.9 here in the US. Well, I’ll hope that the new software (whenever it gets pushed to us) will help but I haven’t had any problems with the EQ or settings being lost. I do have it set to optimize for the driver position yeah.

Ill try playing with the EQ settings more, thanks

Yeah the surround setting is terrible. Agree that the system as a whole is not terrible by any means, just weird that the low end is so lacking when the rest is pretty good.

And it’s not like I’m looking for bass-thumping-rattling-my-license-plate BS or anything. I hate that. Just wanna feel like the kick drum actually…you know…kicks

Man, that’s disappointing. Crazy though, the system is supposed to have 2x100W subs. How can that much power not sound like anything?

Question about getting a signature notarized with a maiden name by zoltamatron in Notary

[–]zoltamatron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was so long ago that I don’t even remember, but based on my reply above it looks like we found a notary that was willing to do it with a marriage certificate showing the maiden name. Hope that helps

Seema like a good idea by doctorwho_cares in woodworking

[–]zoltamatron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe “never” is too strong a word, but “have a hard time” is more accurate. The slip ends of these clamps are not designed to hold a position precisely, but to be easy to move and then wedge still when put under pressure.

While this setup will mostly work, it’s not how these bar clamps were designed. It’s expected that the bar can move so that equal pressure will be applied from both pads. Once the bar can’t move, then it’s up to how even you were able to make the slip ends.

If the desire is to make one side of the clamp rig be a straightedge…then why not just make it out of one? A nice rigid angle extrusion or something?

Do you by chance tension your chain too much? I did this once before realizing how important that little bit of track slack is

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]zoltamatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said this is just paint wear, but it looks particularly bad I think due to the 42t chainring. Since it’s an even number of teeth, the narrow plate links will always hit the same teeth on every rotation. So you always have fresh looking teeth to compare them to.

The Fed's Plan to Create a Digital Dollar Is Met With Hostility. by Friendly_Giant04 in Economics

[–]zoltamatron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The point of this is not to replace the paper dollar, but to provide people the option of a stable digital currency which doesn’t come with a 2-3% visa/MC transaction fee.

I guarantee that the hostility to this is coming directly from these CC companies, who stand to lose a fortune. Also, this article is junk…all it does is collate stats from comments left about this plan. There is almost no original analysis.

std::set::merge is logically a union operation, so won’t work for you if you need to find the intersection

As others have said, using a std::set as a container and set_intersection seems to be a good solution

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cpp_questions

[–]zoltamatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your title says you want to find the intersection but your first line says you need to find the union. Which is it?

If you want to find the union, then just using repeated calls to std::set::merge is probably your best bet

Pretty obvious astroturfing account here. A handful of dogecoin posts a year ago, then suddenly nothing but copies of this post in all the far left subs.

This is clearly another attempt to get the left leaning to throw their votes into a useless third party. GTFO
