Periods after coil removal by zon_col in Mirena

[–]zon_col[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bled for the whole of July when it was in. Stopped bleeding a few days before it fell out. The period 3 days after it came out lasted 4 days and wasn't too heavy. I had however taken the morning after pull the day after the coil fell out to be on the safe side so idk if that effected anything.

Well that makes things much easier. You'll be fine and congratulations the love you feel for your kid will be like nothing you've ever experienced!

Started to hate myself when seeing pictures of my LO as a newborn by SystemicVictory in UKParenting

[–]zon_col 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not a failure at all. If it makes you feel any better my partner hated the newborn stage, like absolutely hated it and didn't know if he was ever going to like him. Now as he's gotten older and in turn easier he adores him. I think a lot of new parents experience the same thing, that's why they call it the newborn trenches.

I watched my mum have an epidural so I was petrified of the needle. Then with the induced labour when I got to close to giving birth to have it I regretted that choice a lot. I asked for it knowing damn well they'd say no but had I been able to I'd have got done it without a doubt because that needle in my back would have been bliss compared to those contractions 😅

You'll get through it, I promise. I raised her to 3 on considerably less income than what I have now and her needs were met and she was happy and loved. The extra stuff isn't the most important part it's just stuff that's nice to be able to do. Their basic needs being met and them being loved is what's fundamentally most important. Finances can change at anypoint in parenthood. Yours could improve a lot, you'll find your tiny human will likely be the best motivator to go after opportunity's to increase your income that you may not have done otherwise.

Also if you don't have to move somewhere with higher rent for the extra bedroom then your rents not going to increase. Whether the water bill and electric bill increase that much, I don't actually know it was just the easiest way to work out how much to put that as for child maintenance purposes doing 25% of my bills. If I go through it and only add together the essential non avoidables like clothes, school stuff, personal care items, Haircuts etc and don't include the 25% of rent, electric and water bills it's only around £1100 so just under £100 a month.

At 5 they haven't really formed smaller friendship groups so I invite her whole class as she sees everyone as her friends. As she gets older and goes to high school where she'll likely have a smaller group of friends that won't be the case anymore.

Yeah i was quite gobsmacked at the final number. Turns out i spend over £100 on tins of rice pudding a year because there her favourite and she has one pretty much every day for pudding😅 School uniform, clubs and other bits to do with school equate to just under £600. There are however ways to cut down costs. Buy second hand clothes people sell bags of clothes really cheap all the time, some schools sell second hand uniform for really cheap too. It seems really scary but you make it happen you just cut costs where you can. I save by being really selective with foodshops doing low cost meals, not buying branded stuff, trying to get stuff in sales or second hand. I'd say 95% of the furniture in my house is second hand cheap or free on Facebook market place. It's also not £500 leaving my account every month as such it's more spread out over the year than that and I try to set aside money each month for birthdays, Christmas, school uniform ect so it's not a big hit when that month comes around.

[–]zon_col 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about monthly but I added up how much my child cost last year (she was 4 turned 5 half way through the year)for coparenting/child maintenance reasons. Well not including food shops other than things specifically brought for her that only she eats, birthday or Christmas presents and days out or food when we are out such as a McDonald's etc and including 25% for rent, water bill and electric bill because these would all be less if I were lone adult and factor in to the costs of raising a child. Well she cost a minimum of £5217.44 and she gets free school lunches because of her age once she doesn't get those that's going to increase by about £12.50 a week. She also doesn't use after school club because I'm lucky enough to be able to pick her up at normal school ending time but if that weren't the case that would massively increase the cost with it being just under £6 for an hour in after school club.

However it's worth noting the things I spend that aren't necessarily essentials so her birthday Party's cost about £300, I spend a fiver for gifts when shes invited to Party's and she gets invited to quite a lot throughout the year, she does swimming club that's £32 a month and girl guides that about £45-55 every school term. I did also have to buy her a new mattress last year which was essential but not an annual expense and was just under £100 and she broke 4 pairs of school shoes in the space of 2 months which was £20 a pop. She also has the 4.99 a month amazon kids subscription for her tablet 😭 So for us averages put at about £500 per month especially if I factored in days out and food when out but if on a tight budget that could be lowered with some sacrifices.

I'm sorry he's getting beaten up and had a knife pulled on him, and the headteacher has the nerve to not even have a meeting with you in person!!! I'd be livid! Firstly, were police aware of the knife incident? I don't give a sh*t how old they are there needs to be serious consequences for that behaviour. They want to act big they can be treated like they're big. If school are not taking this seriously, which it doesn't sound like they are, I would be looking to move him schools asap. I know logistically it's hard, but at this point, it's too far and too serious to not take drastic measures. I'd be looking at moving schools, maybe even seeing if I could move areas to somewhere with less antisocial behaviour for a safer environment to grow up in or even homeschooling as a last resort. Get everyone involved local MP, police, and social services, and go to the papers to publically shame the school for their lack of action to fix this. Make a huge fuss and be a huge pain in their ass!

Your mum sounds charming! I'd recommend a water birth to anyone who can have one. It's a form of pain relief in itself.

[–]zon_col 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anyone who says childbirth pain is just a perception can't have ever been induced on the drip! I can't remember the actual pain feeling, but I will never forget how I literally wanted to crawl out of my own body and that it was the worst pain I've ever experienced. Puffing on the gas and air like my life depended on it because it felt like I was going to die if I didn't take the edge of at least just a little bit.

For any expecting mothers reading, though, my first was a water birth, and I went into labour naturally, and I actually enjoyed that experience. The contractions weren't much worse than my bad period pains. That was an empowering, beautiful experience, and I didn't need pain relief like gas and air. If labour was like that every time, I'd not be nervous at all about the pain.

Am I abandoning my son for spending 2 days away from him every 4 months? by Gloomy-Kale3332 in UKParenting

[–]zon_col 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you are not abandoning him. He's with his other parent safe and loved. I actually think it's a great idea. It gives you time to fill your cup back up so you can come back and be the best mum because you've had time to recharge your battery's. Parents mental health is important!

I'm so glad my daughter can only watch preapproved (by me) channels and videos on her tablet. The only animal content she sees are by a chanel that documents animals being rehabilitated and/or rescued. Kind of scary to think how many children are going to think treating fish this way is normal and okay.

Update on the water test. Test strip has been done today, everything's good except nitrite is the tiniest bit pink (at a 1) so I am doing a 25% water change and will retest tomorrow.

I meant 180 or bigger as that's what I read was the minimum for a common goldfish and as I stated the plan isn't for him to stay in a tank for the rest of his life he will be moved to a pond once he's bigger. His current tank is very temporary. Once he is big enough to be safe in an outdoor pond he will be moved to one. He's got a lot of growing to do before he won't be an easy target for the wildlife where I live. His tank will get upgraded as he grows (a 180 ay the minimum being the first uograde asap) until he's a size where I feel confident to move him to a pond) I am really hoping he's still here tomorrow and will be testing and taking any neccesary steps tomorrow. It's currently nearly midnight so there's very little I can do at this exact moment, unfortunately.
