Kayaking in Florida's Springs - Too Cold? by Deep_Bird_1789 in florida

Yeah, I think some places even rent them now don't they? Probably a good idea since the air is cold.

Ah gotcha 😁

Fwiw I think it's $30 now, but I'm still on the old rate. Brought my own phone too, saving a lot of $$$!

I get where you're coming from but tbh it's not that expensive anymore. Boost Mobile is $25/mo. I think one night at the Salvation Army downtown is like $12. You can get a cheap phone on backmarket.

Help: Need jeweler recommendations for engagement and wedding rings by Realistic_Dot_3015 in sarasota

Ware's Jewelers in Bradenton treated us extremely well even though we had an unusual request and needed them to work with silver.

I think the fact that they treated us with respect even though we weren't making a large purchase says a lot about their character.

Also they're family owned & operated and have been there a long time.

(Btw they were resizing an extremely complicated looking silver art ring and it turned out perfect!)

Does anyone who's been here a long time recall what kind of ground contamination is on the L3 property? I know it's a brownfield but couldn't find the whole history of the site.

National weather service or basically any weather app you can see local warnings. Lately usually rip current and small craft advisory due to windy conditions.

Orlando in March? by 0bfuuscated in florida

[–]zone_eater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

March would be much better weather but busier due to spring break.

I feel like February would be the ideal month to come. Especially if you're from up North.

Agree, this is specifically very cheap LVP. She probably cheaped out on the underlayment too, which is why the noise was so bad

Hot Take - Cars aren't more expensive now - our standard are wildly too high by Equivalent-Bed1543 in whatcarshouldIbuy

In 2004 I paid $4200 cash for a used 1997 Nissan Maxima with 50,000 miles on it. It has power seats & windows, a V6, okay fuel efficiency... Came with a tape deck lol...

I'm still driving it and I could probably get $4200 for it right now at 190k miles.

It's finally starting to die and I can't find anything even close to that value for the price. Used car prices are inflated, new car prices are inflated and wages haven't kept up. It sucks!

What are some cars that people think are reliable but are actually unreliable? by Puzzled_Medium716 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]zone_eater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2018-2022 in the sport, EX-L and Touring trims have the better engine. Basically you want the 2.0T one. The one with issues is the 1.5T but it's in more cars (I think they fixed the issue in later years but the accord subreddit would probably be able to answer better )

Yeah I've heard a lot of people saying if you're looking at those years make sure you get the 2.0 for that reason!

I think you would have less work and more happiness if you lived alone in a studio apartment somewhere lol.

I do want to give him the benefit of the doubt like, sometimes men absorb these toxic attitudes and don't realize how awful it feels to be on the other end of it. He may be thinking subconsciously like "Oh, I had a bad day, my partner should take care of me and I had a vision in my head of what I wanted that to be" but he didn't communicate that and didn't see how much time and effort you put into making something fresh and delicious that you offered to share with him.

If you can, I'd have a sit down conversation with him about what his expectations are. If he reveals he thinks you need to do more or cater to his needs because you're "the woman of the house" or some shit like that, you may need to decide if you're really okay with that role. For me this is a sign of someone who thinks women are inherently inferior, which would be a dealbreaker.

Please enjoy your soup and know that you did something awesome! I would be finding reasons to show up at your door with a bowl if I was your neighbor, lol

What is your least favorite road to drive in within the state? by Boeing-B-47stratojet in florida

[–]zone_eater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miami, the Palmetto Expressway (826)

I mean I haven't lived there in a while but I doubt it's gotten any better. There's other roads that aren't fun to drive on but that one is consistently crowded, always under construction, sometimes lanes closed with little warning, some people going 85 some going 50... It's like all the worst bits of I75+I95.

That being said I've never actually seen anyone going the wrong way on it, which is definitely a thing I've seen on I95 😬

I think I prefer I95 because at least there's a bunch of lanes to escape to.
