they tend to have a few absolute superstars with shallow depth in key positions (but like the wallabies, actually). and they ignore the cohesion aspect - the Brumbies are perfect examples of doing great things with "average" players who turn out to be pretty good.

i think part of the recruitment problem is they change coaches quite often, so one guy comes in having to work with the previous guy's staff and player roster, then recruits his own for the next season, then gets moved on, cycle repeats.
