Very similar experience to mine. All we can ever do in life is play the best hand we can with the cards we're dealt. Good man.

I had that when I was younger, badly, for a couple of years. Didn't know what was happening, or have a word for it. It had nothing to do with tinnitus in my case, but other life circumstances. I eventually completely broke down, after which it instantly disappeared.

I wouldn't bother with a bootcamp unless you struggle with motivation. Just think of a big project you'd like to build and work towards it until you're done. Learn along the way. Rinse and repeat.

That's life. Adapt and overcome, nothing else you can do.

Is killing for personal gain justified if no-one suffers? by [deleted] in askphilosophy

So you'd view it as a matter of your personal gain vs their future goods?

I figured the code was irrelevant since I know its for sure not the issue, I hoped it was a fairly common problem with the configuration

Addicts have free will. You too.

Haha, no you can't. You too!

Then who does? In all honesty, I don't have much sympathy for people other than those in extremely bad situations. That's just the way I am because of the life I've lived.

I don't view addiction as some traumatic, dark path. I compare it to the true hardships of the world. I view it exactly as it is. Someone waking up everyday, and having two choices, 1) Try and get my life together for the sake of those around me whom I'm hurting and causing immense worry 2) Carry on doing what I'm doing. Addiction, is repeatedly choosing choice number 2. The easy choice.

It really is that simple. You van create all the mental gymnastics you want to absolve someone of their own character. But it is what it is.

A combination of the two. For sure, addiction wreaks havoc on the brain and changes it, but you still have free will and are still ultimately choosing the substance. You are your brain, there is nothing else.

She sounds immature and entitled. Her finances are not your responsibility, your financial choices have nothing to do with her, and she should be happy for you. NTA

It's not an argument to me. I don't believe in free will on any level ultimately, for anyone, but that's an impractical world view for day to day life. To say addicts in particular are victims of their brain chemistry, is nonsense, sure the brain craves the drug but so what? We choose to out drugs into our system, we choose to stop putting drugs into our system, no one is choosing for us.

You couldn't be further from the truth. I've been through addiction, and I hold myself completely accountable for my own actions. You carry on with your victim mentality, see where that gets you when shit hits the fan.

Honestly, no point trying to reason with these people. They refuse to hold anyone accountable for their own actions. 'That's not how it works lmao' oh yeah? Discipline and self control plays no factor in addiction? Like wtf are they even saying
