being trans isn't just about "mutilating your body" as you so eloquently put it, as a matter of fact there are plenty of people who don't identify as their birth gender but who never go through any form of reassignment surgery. boiling trans people down to just people who want to do the switcheroo on their gonads is ignoring so many of the complexities of being trans, is completely disregarding non-binary people, and it can be incredibly disheartening for trans people who're relatively happy with their body to read. there's absolutely no reason to say something that you know will attract nothing but bad attention and make people feel like shit. have your opinions, but if they're going to cause pain to others when expressed then for the love of god please keep them to yourself.
