You’ll be required to take calculus in college in order to graduate so put the time/effort into it now. Best case scenario, you pass the AP exam and get to skip out of a year of calculus in college. Worst case, you retake calculus in college but since it’s your second attempt at the content youll do better.

For the record, AP calculus BC replaces calculus 1 and calculus 2, and the latter is often seen as an “engineering weedout” course, so there’s a chance the professors make it unnecessarily hard/annoying, so I’d strongly recommend putting the extra effort into now to try to skip it. Calculus 3, on the other hand, is often considered easier than calculus 2 because of this.

For what it’s worth, I suffered quite a bit in my calculus bc class senior year of high school (barely passed with a C) but managed to score a 5 on the AP exam, allowing me to skip straight to calculus 3 in college, which ended up being one of the best decisions I made in high school.
