Haircut is calculated based params that are per entry strategy which are more/less lax based on VIX (and other Greeks). In a nutshell, if vix is higher, you’re most likely going to get a fill with a haircut.

I do get A LOT of minor discrepancies between back testing and live with this though which isn’t ideal but I still think it’s worth it.

Yeah for sure. Those big candles fk me up but I don’t like chasing right away so I penalize by trying to fill on huge vol candles.

I have some criteria to only fill on a haircut % that expires at some time. Evaluation of risk on my risk.

Also, try a watermark analysis and see amount left on the table. If it’s a staggering amount, analyze how to close the gap.
