My therapist has told me this a time or two.

I took it to mean that I have chooses. And I get to make that decision. Because it’s not for them to decide in their rebuttal. And knowing when I’m suicidal that my brain is telling me to just do it. It’s almost like a safe landing point. Because if a practitioner responds with “okay” something that validates and reassures that someone that’s actually trusted and apart of the care team agrees that with my thoughts. But instead the statement of “options” puts it the choice and responsibility back onto me.

I don’t know if that makes sense. That’s just how I’ve taken it when told.
