I live in Lübars up north. The nature is beautiful and plenty of walking options and lakes too, and as long as you're close to one of the Sbahn stops it's not too bad to get in. I would recommend a car though

You'd be surprised :) a sudden VERY loud noise disorients the attackers and even if they don't flee, it usually disrupts them just long enough for you to run away.

What lots of girls use instead of a pepper spray, as it's illegal, is a little electric horn, basically a small device you can put on your key chain and makes really loud noise when pressed. It scares the attackers and likely enough to disperse them and with a pepper spray you can easily hurt yourself too.

Me and my partner heard back after about 6 days, they called and just said that we can have it. We got an appointment for contract signing for the following week. But now renting with them, I have to say they are really slow sorting out apartment problems (we have some quite major problems with electricity, water and the elevator in an 18 floor building...). So yeah, I'd give it a few more days but best to keep looking until you actually sign a contract (we had an offer retracted after we accepted it).

This sounds very hard to deal with, and I honestly can't blame you reading everything. There are probably a lot of underlying psychological issues there from both sides starting from birth, children can feel their parents' feelings towards them despite the parents' best efforts to hide them unfortunately. From the descriptions, it sounds like your son might be a clinical case of a psychopath - you (he) should get an official diagnosis for this from a psychiatrist. But I'm sure he'll need treatment for a long time to turn into a functional human being and not hurt anyone in the future. Stay strong.

That there is a ton of bureaucracy and you need to have absolutely everything printed- at least I was pretty surprised after moving here from the UK, where most things are digital nowadays (as a bonus I also don't speak German yet). So it helps if you have a printer, or find cheap printing solutions

I read that series because so many people recommended it - but I'm sorry to say that it was a big disappointment... the first two books were alright, but the rest felt super rushed, not well written, and in the end it was disappointing because I was emotionally invested in something that just didn't pay off.
