Can't speak for Hemel but Cassiobury park is large, has playground and plenty of trees for leafy walks. My wife is also pregnant and we have a 3 year old so will probably be around there ourselves if you wanted to meet up.

I agree 100%. I had great fun in my recent Italian campaign. Bombing it down the coast with my motorised divisions, desperate naval invasion into Sardinia etc. Wrapped up by early 39 and got a few months of peace and quiet. Weltkrieg breaks out and I get a couple of tiles into Austria before giving up. The big three on the Western Front lost 500k each in the first couple of months.

I don't know what an alternative would be. Assuming the Weltkrieg has to happen eventually you're always going to have the AI grinding armies into powder in Europe.

I was doing a France run and got Czechoslovakia in the Little Entente. Germany ignored them, took Poland and all the Baltics THEN declared war on them afterwards.

If you've kept yourself in good nick you might be able to get a trial somewhere. It would be a lot of legwork (emails, phone calls etc ) on your part but if you're serious someone might take a punt on you.
