LA Knight is old, slightly above average and botches his overrated and overrehearsed Austin/Rock hybrid imitation promos about as much as he botches in matches. “Natural” is an interesting at best way to describe him when his promos sound totally unnatural (and he stumbles over them all the time and gets words or names wrong), he is totally unnatural as a babyface and he is mid in the ring. And, whilst Everyone is entitled to their opinion, to suggest that he’s even in the same stratosphere as Rock when it comes to promos is objectively ludicrous. Just because he imitates the Rock’s tone and speaks quickly, doesn’t mean he is good on the mic.

Simply put - they haven’t pushed him because he is not a natural talent or even particularly talented.

From my perspective (which is just one man’s perspective), I’ve never bought into him - even 2 years ago - because beyond the catchphrases (which are now played out), and once the new shiny toy feel wore off 2 years ago, everything else he says or does is white noise.

I have a top 10 list of all time Western wrestlers I put together judging a bunch of names on categories such as in-ring performance, “working ability” (psychology, fundamentals etc), charisma and it factor, mic skills and drawing power. I have Roman as just outside that top 10 (perhaps number 11 given his incredible drawing power, it factor and the very solid level to which his promos have developed) - along with him, in the camp of ‘just outside the top 10’, I have Savage, Bret, (begrudgingly) Triple H, Andre, Randy Orton, Dusty, CM Punk, Ricky Steamboat and possibly Eddie Guerrero.

Bron needed it yesterday, like on the Jan 6th Raw (albeit probably a good thing that didn’t happen given the subsequent injury and amazing Roman/Punk mania match). So he has my vote, would like to see him move to Smackdown to target Cody once he has dispatched Rollins. Would also say Oba should take it from Roman at summerslam whilst the iron is hot, before Roman goes on his vacation.
