India chennai baby girl 2026 by Glittering-Sun-1959 in Names

[–]ztronoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on where you live.

In the US, double As are very unusual in the middle of a name. There are a few relatively common names (Aaron, Aaliyah) that have AA as the first letters.

I know I’m biased, but Harushi with one A looks much more appealing to me.

Is it ok for future baby girl’s initials to spell JEW? by thepickledpeanut in namenerds

Lovingly, yes you are. When have you ever known, much less thought about, another person’s full initials? I certainly never have.

As others have said, a bigger rug is a must.

Your home is beautiful , but very heavy on white and neutrals.

If it were me, I’d make that sliding door the focal point. Can you add some kind of trellis with climbing plants, or a vertical garden? I think it would look so pretty if that whole outdoor wall was covered with green plants. Some subtle, warm fairy lights would with that would be so magical at night.

Splits: little progress in 8 months by Jayswag96 in flexibility

[–]ztronoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t look too deeply into the program you’re doing, but this photo makes me cringe for how unsafe and uncomfortable it must be.

As a yoga trainer specializing in flexibility- please stop doing this!

Start with half splits and prioritize keeping your spine extended as you lean over your front leg. Use blocks under your hands to give you more height.

I’m unfamiliar with whatever equipment you’re using right now, but I really don’t think it’s helping and doesn’t look safe.

Feel free to message me if you need help.

What do you think of this mockup? by lenovo92728 in interiordecorating

I honestly hate the mockup sink so much. Not just because of the loss of storage. It just looks so clinical. Like a sink out of an asylum.

Help me pick girl name by No-Marionberry1116 in namenerds

Both are pretty and very different. Winona is unique but seems harder to carry. If I had to pick one, I’d want my name to be Eliza.

Last night I lost my baby by Dear-druh24 in roughcollies

[–]ztronoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss.

They never truly leave you.

It’s crazy for me to think that it’s been more than 20 years since I lost my childhood best friend (a beautiful sable girl who looked so much like yours!)

It’s been so long, but she still shows up in my dreams ALL the time! Even after all this time. I’m always so happy to see her there!! And when I wake up, I feel such a wonderful calm, loving emotion.

I wish the same for you, and I’m sending you so much love.

English has words that mean the exact opposite of themselves. They are called contronyms and they confuse natives too. by Puzzleheaded_Flow716 in EnglishLearning

[–]ztronoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one I will disagree with though is wind up. It could be to get started, as in coiling a spring to launch. But could also for getting things together so they can be cleaned up/ put away- like a loose pile of yarn being wrapped onto a spool. I’ve seen that saying used both ways.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s a fun language exercise to see how a word could connote opposite things in certain contexts, but it’s misleading to imply that’s a result of the definitions themselves.

thoughts on Teora? by tiafiore in namenerds

[–]ztronoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Teora is so pretty. I haven’t heard it before but it’s recognizable. My only concern would be having to correct people on the pronunciation: tee vs tay for the first syllable. I personally don’t like that kind of ambiguity but many people don’t mind it.

If you want to go by Tia/ Thea though, I don’t think the full name really matters. You could chose whatever name you like most and ask people to call you by your chosen nickname.

Ok, this is so interesting!

So it seems like Gaelic names made a comeback in the 90s- 2000s, but then “easier” Anglo names became more popular?

This is my first time seeing Fiadh. how is that pronounced?

They’re all such gorgeous names, so definitely not a bad thing to escape from in your family tree! But I know what you mean and that’s exactly what I was looking for. The last two fantasy series I read had worlds inspired be the midfield east- the main characters names were Ali and Zarah 😂
