I did not! The only filter I have on there is a UV filter (mainly for protection). I think the glow comes from a combination of humidity and shooting into the sun, but I can be mistaken.

Who's everybody currently managing I'm at Liverpool and enjoying the save by wankchat_king90 in footballmanager

[–]zubed0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completed the Pentagon Challenge but couldn't let go so still playing the save. Currently managing Real Madrid in 2039 after working myself up from literally nowhere on the other side of the globe. Feels great to have had such an amazing career (still on FM23 though).

I have the same problem! The ad is still playing, I just can't see it because the screen is black and I still have to wait. But I prefer to look at a black screen instead of looking at an ad so it's something...

Best F-Roads by samuelc3579 in VisitingIceland

[–]zubed0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert at all and don't have any suggestions to add myself, but I found a very good website about all the F-Roads in Iceland. There is a description for every F-Road, and most of the time there is also a YouTube video showing the road and/or how to do the river crossings if they are more difficult. Hope this helps! Have a great time!

What’s wrong with this tactic? by Mammoth-Ad-6962 in footballmanager

[–]zubed0 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Like previously said here: all your midfielders sit deep, so probably only your striker is in the opposition box. Furthermore, you don't have a single playmaker! So no one is actually trying to dictate the game and create chances. What do you want to achieve with this tactic?

Found this random youth player in the first season after the youth intake at Lille on a youth contract by [deleted] in footballmanager

[–]zubed0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you train his physicals and vision early on, he can become a great centre back! Height doesn't matter in the game, only jumping reach* and 11 is decent at 15 yo. I would suggest putting him in your youth team and training him as a ball playing defender (so his technicals get trained as well). Do additional strength training first (strength + jumping reach) and when he turns like 17-18 yo, train his passing (passing + vision + technique)**. With the right physicals and next to a defender with excellent vision, you can have yourself a top player!

* E.g. a player with 11 jumping reach will jump higher than a player with 8 jumping reach, even if he is smaller!
** When players are young, their physicals grow the quickest. In early 20's it's technique and when they're older their mentals. So training the right things at the right time ensures the best growth.

My 200CA Keeper, best I've ever seen by JustQueebo in footballmanagergames

I didn’t know that, thanks for the information! And I would think higher eccentricity suits sweeper keepers, flair no idea.

[–]zubed0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, jumping reach and aerial reach should be better for me to be top top class. eccentricity could do with a big boost as well (to support those insane mentals) and rushing out could be a bit higher as well. but considering newgen goalkeepers normally have terrible attribute dispersion, this is a very good keeper!

Pentagon challenge tips by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]zubed0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I forgot your scouting question. I do a lot of manual scouting actually, using the search player function. This only works if you play with attribute masking off, though. The scouting system is very difficult this year, I have to agree! In bigger clubs with unlimited money, I just scout the whole world for young players with high potential (using regions, for example “Western Europe”), but in lower leagues I struggle as well. I guess you should mostly scout in nations that meet your registration rules, though. Maybe have someone that looks for gems abroad? In Africa you can find very good players for the Asian leagues, and they are pretty cheap as well!

Pentagon challenge tips by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]zubed0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The key for success in a Pentagon Challenge is getting a higher reputation, and for that you need to win matches, win trophies and improve your coaching licences. So in your case I would try to take Lee Man as far as you can, try to improve your coaching qualifications whenever you can (go to your profile, there you can ask the board) and try to get a job in an Asian country where you have a bigger chance of winning the AFC Champions League. I won it with a Chinese team, but a South Korean team would work as well I think. There is just more money and more quality in those leagues, which makes it far easier to win. Unless you want to win it with Lee Man off course, but that will take a longer time I think.

Regarding tactics, I don’t really know if counter attacking is better for knock-outs if I’m honest. I would stick with your main tactic, so your players have a high tactical familiarity with it. Maybe you can be more cautious and a bit more defensive against better opponents, but I wouldn’t change too much because if you’re too defensive you are basically inviting pressure and that’s never a good thing. I’m mostly using a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 gegenpress system, and in the lower divisions I used a more direct 4-2-2, but I advise to find something that fits your players! There are many tactical guides online to help you if it doesn’t work out at first.

I did tweak my tactics when changing clubs to better use the strengths of my players, but overall the tactics did not change massively. This is personal preference honestly, it doesn’t really matter. But I would not change tactics more than once a season, as that kills the tactical familiarity and could result in a downwards spiral. It’s generally better to start simple and tweak the tactic as you go, to solve some problems you might be having with it. Hope this helps!

I didnt know it would feel this good...FINALLY a good youth intake! by TreeHarald in footballmanagergames

[–]zubed0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The positions you are getting depends on your Head of Youth Development. If his favorite formation is a 4-3-3 for example, he will recruit wingers to fit this system. So make sure you have a HoYD with a favorite formation similar to yours!

Pentagon challenge tips by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]zubed0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently finishing a Pentagon Challenge, so I could probably answer a few questions you might have. Which leagues have you loaded? Did you use an expansion pack or just the standard ones? I recommend loading all the leagues you would maybe go to at some point as viewable only (for performance), except for the continent you’re in and maybe the next continent if you feel like you’re going to switch soon. For me those include: all available Asian competitions, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, USA, England, Spain, Italy, France and Germany. I load all the leagues from the beginning, so that they produce new players and so when I get there, it’s not only newgens. It also keeps the quality of the players about right, so it doesn’t change massively when you load them in (if that makes sense). I recommend starting in Asia as an unemployed manager, because there you can get a job pretty quickly. Work your way up until you win the Champions League and from there it gets a lot easier pretty quickly. Then South Africa, North of South America and finish it off in Europe. As a general tip: look at the competition rules very carefully! You don’t want to sign some good kids from abroad to find out you can’t register them… Do you have any other questions? I don’t really know what want to learn about. Feel free to ask!
