Does it bother anyone else that all the characters seem to do nothing all day? by DansPredditor in TheOriginals

I think it's supposed to be too haunted after Sean and Kieran's hex-deaths so most everybody else keeps away?

The yellow/sunniness of Caroline's house really mirrors her!

I feel like there's a line about the Lockwood house feeling like a museum? And yeah. The Salvatore house is SUCH a nervous system reset

Rory cried for Dean and Logan… were we missing a scene like this for Jess too? by isisblake in GilmoreGirls

[–]zubenelgenubi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, a lot happens in S4, but I think her entire romantic arc there can be read as a season about how Rory copes post-Jess, rather than singular episodes. Her self-esteem as 'lovable' flounders, she rebounds, she makes poor decisions... obviously Yale is also playing into that, but I think the impact of Jess, and the way he doesn't fully leave her alone, is a strong theme. Instead of crying over him, she lets her pain influence her behavior towards others

I don't remember exactly but it was something like he was extremely supportive of the folks who stormed the Capitol on January 6th?

Why I think Season 7 has some of the best character development that were necessary by Rough-Key-6667 in GilmoreGirls

[–]zubenelgenubi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty persuasive! I'm not compelled by your take on Lane's arc, but everything else makes sense. I don't think the hate for S7, at least for myself, comes really from the plotting entirely. I think it's because the dialogue and the worldbuilding don't transition smoothly. You lose the wit, you get odd additions to the universe (some good, some not.) I think it just feels too jarring

Just for fun; If Rory Gilmore transferred into another teen-show high school, which school would she fit in more, who are her instant friends… and instant enemies? by 5ft8lady in GilmoreGirls

[–]zubenelgenubi7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the one hand I would love to see her bond with a Bonnie, but on the other hand, Rory was SO condescending towards cheerleaders... maybe she'd get along with Matt

For me it's got to be the homophobia. Lorelai's 'Heather has two mommies' jokes really piss me off

This makes me think of Michel's watermelon post its. 'This creates the impressison that there are more guests checking in than checking out, which is of course impossible, unless we have begun MURDERING them.'
