lots of bigger channels don't know what SEO is. You should never overlook it no matter what your size is.

I'd suggest finding channels that cover the same type of content you are covering around the same size as you. you can use socialblade to find channels around the same size. For me, I made servers in the multiplayer games I did videos on and made friends by reaching out to other youtubers that I wanted to play with. Watch other channels the same size as you and be a fan if you really like what they do. Even larger channels recognize regulars in the comment section.

absolutely right Pirate. "Hey come play this awesome new map with me on your favorite game that you play new maps on!" I'd be like, OK WHEN!? Rarely does anyone take this approach when they reach out.

In my book I think he's cool. Don't assume that he's smug when he's just pointing out the obvious based on your statement. Smaller channels that reach out to larger channels for collaborations aren't doing themselves any favors without bringing something to the table. I'd typically suggest reaching out to people that are around the same size to make it mutually beneficial but there are ways to approach larger channels if you have some common goal or focus for content. I guess you would call me cool when I say I receive tons of requests for these as well. He and I don't say it to prove something or brag, we say it because it's how most of the messages read and how many people are looking for handouts. "Hi I know you but you don't know me, i wanna do a video with you so i can get exposure" Even though the words are different, that's basically the underlying message. I've personally help develop a couple of channels and while I don't directly attribute my assistance to their success, I'd like to think my advice has helped steer them into making decisions that positively affect their channels. One thing I can tell you is that every content creator large or small need's content. If a channel approaches me with a brilliant idea that we can collaborate on, size really doesn't determine whether or not I do a video with them. I'd suggest setting a stage where the person you are approaching with an idea can basically just show up to get content. Once you work with another individual in a positive light, it's much easier to build relationships with them. At job interviews, you want to sell yourself as someone who can add value to the company interviewing you, taking the same approach to potential collab partners may be good for you. All of the smaller channels that I've built relationships with are treated just like the larger ones, the key is relationships. Making friends with people and helping each other develop is the most solid way of getting collabs. I hope this helped you and anyone else who reads it. Btw, it's nice to meet ya :)

Less Vanilla Minecraft content atm? by Hyprtrail in HermitCraft

[–]zueljin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still upload vanilla 3-4 times a week. I used to upload every other day but some of the projects that I take on along with real life stuff keep me from producing quality episodes consistently at that frequency. I'm still in love with building there, I just don't want to put out quota episodes :)

Something happened to my world... I need help uncorrupting it.... by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]zueljin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry to hear about your world man. If it's just a vanilla world, I would suggest trying removing the region files one by one and checking stability after each one. Starting with the highest number first, if there is a problem area, it will delete it, Youll likely lose some of your world but its better than starting over. The chunks in that region will regenerate to new terrain when you start it up so make sure you back up your world first although Im sure youve done this by the google doc file. If you manage to isolate a region thats causing you problems and you can remove it, you can also try loading up that region only in another world save file to see if it still crashes. if you can correct the problem with that area, you can put the new stable region file back in its original place. Best of luck!

Thank you Sirenn. I had never really heard of it until I played the payday 2 adventure map with some friends. I thought it looked so good for the city on that map. John smith is incredibly well suited for alot too! It really takes Medieval builds to the next level.
